That Twin Bridges rd is without doubt the best 70km road i have been on, suit my riding, did it twice and if there was enough time, would have done it again....Oldguy and Bass made it....and whoever said that Kaikohe has nothing?... well there is a Subway there....![]()
Stoped at the bridges and on a day like today the river looked stunning, saw to chooks shagging but didnt get a pic...sorry..about 400km for us closer to 600 for the south Akl boys....Buell sounds the biz John and Neil!...stay of those front brakes mate...![]()
Hope you get as good a day for your Loop ride as we did today, what a beauty! The feeling of the sun on your back while riding, it must have been a while since I have felt it, because it was just loverley!
First time Twin Bridges Road for me, now I see why it is so popular, what a great piece of road. The bovine users of it are another story altogether, apologies to the 2 guys moving young steers up the road for our diverting presence, and mental note to self, watch for the cows crossing the road for afternoon milking.
Going to add a couple of things to the tool kit too after today, spare bolts and nutsHope you got home dry and in one piece guys, thanks for a lovey day out!
SOOOO jealous, those pics were awesome looks like it could be a regular thing(nudge nudge) eh Mark?
Well Maha and Mom, as I said to you guys at the pub, thanks for a great dayand Bass thanks for the company and the drink,
glad you got that brake sorted.
Well woke this morning, looking forward to this ride, open the curtains and its bloody raining, I'm going Fuk Fuk post up the weather is crap here, couple peps post up the weather is fine were they are, so fuk will chance it, Glad i did turn out a great day.
After we left maha and mom, Bass wanted to do Woodcocks and down 16, that was fun.![]()
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Never doubt the weather north of Akl John, one other ride up this way, you weren't going to come cos it was shit down there and when you got here you needed sunny's and everthing was dry...na all good mate, i see ya got Dad on the Buell.......and what about that prick giving me ago at Wellsford on the way back?...wanker!...waited my time then got him les than a k up the road...Anne said he gave me the fingers..we must of had a better day than he....

The ride worked out well for me, as I wanted to take the new toy out for a getting to know you ride, and at the same time visit my dad, so hooked up with maha and crew, while they went in to town (Kaikohe) for repairs and look for a coffee shop, I stopped of to visit me dad and hooked up with them on the return trip.
