Maha, Mom, OG, I had a really, really good day.
Thanks for the organisation and the company.
I had more of the same on Sunday - put about 1000 km on the bike over the weekend, so I guess that new tyre must be scrubbed in by now.
Thanks also for the help when I had some problem with the brakes. I will let you know how my discussions on that one turn out - that kind of service is just unacceptable.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

    Update

The organisation concerned, has responded appropriately.
The technician involved has been formally disciplined.
They are treating it suitably seriously as they had recently had an internal meeting covering taking care and torquing down fastenings in this and related areas, following a reported incident involving similar events, from another dealer.

Some future financial consideration has been mentioned.

In the event, although the risk was severe, nothing untoward actually happened. It easily could have been much worse, but I am pretty much in tune with how my machinery sounds and so strange noises are quickly checked out.

I am satisfied with the outcome
