, just to be sure wait until oooh about a couple of hours before the wedding before ya buy the ring - that way you can be sure it is not likely to be a wasted effort.

Well that's what I did in 'Vegas in '01.... and CB is still with me

Have I got this right? You were going to wear a dress but decided not to? Nothing to fit your figure?

I've purchased a few engagement rings in the past. Not that I wanted to get married or anything, it just bought me some time until I found someone better.

I know this is late but........it all comes to the person you are getting engaged to. For example.

My ex from years ago when we were looking at heading down that road the price was everything to her. She basically indicated to me if it was worth less than $3000 she wouldn't accept it. Now she was all about being trendy etc and a bit of a Paris Hilton so to speak

My wife who I got married to earlier this year couldn't give a stuff what it is worth. In the end she picked out a two ring set at a cost of $600. She is the reverse of my ex. To her it came down to why spend $3000 or so on a ring when it can be put aside for something like a house deposit etc. But I was the same for my wedding ring, I chose a titanium one at a cost of $300.

Besides if money is tight get what you can afford. In the future as life gets a bit easier financially you can always upgrade it to one you would have liked to buy.

Of course you will use your initiative and make the decision on your own based on what she tells you to spend....

From experiance you will know if you have spent enough......trust me, you will know!
