Hmmm hard being bed bound or can she move around?

Books, pen & paper for writing to peeps, music, DVD/Tele, CD player or MP3 player, is she artistic or might like to give it a go? Why not take the time to think about aspirations, things she'd like to achieve in life. Has she got any particular interests that could be indulged from a hospital bed (like reading up of the subject etc)? Buy a box of fortune cookies so she can have one with each meal?

Visitors is always top! I got visited in hospital after my appendix ruptured, sadly I vomited when I got my first visitor (can't have been nice for them!). I'd been vomiting for a couple of days with the appendix business (couldn't even keep water down) so my tummy took a while to come right.

I gave Kanny a Rubiks cube with the stickers arranged so that it was never going to be correct.

Sponging patients down etc among other patient caring activities is part of a nurses job description...

Colouring books? Sudoku books? Crosswords? Not sure if any of those would appeal - I know colouring books are really childish, but they can be fun!

An iPod with some movies on? If you have access to one of those of course.

She could start writing her Xmas cards.....LOL

    Failing that, sleeping tablets.......
