Walked in to a fishing boat company and talked my way in to a job. Ended up on trawlers for a year - was an amazing experience, though I don't long to go back!

Or else becoming an ASME IX heavy wall pipe welder when I left school. Now THAT was a random thing to do. Paid extremely well, though.

Wrapped ourselves in toilet paper head to toe, then walked up and down the main drag of Waihi Beach with one arm out in front & dragging one leg (like a mummy)
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

One event stands out. Daytura. 3 days of non stop hallucinations, parties (that only existed in my head), getting picked up by the cops for being a nuisance, and sooo much more, that I really shouldn't talk about on a public forum. Oh yeah that was a great weekend.

It started as a challenge, and I don't like to back down from challenges. I'd never touch the stuff again.

90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.
