    Need advice

Hey dudes n dudettes. I have been considering getting new front disc's for me RF900 but they are hella expensive. The disc's still have life left in them (4mm minimum with left being 4.5 right 4.3. My conundrum is I was keen to get more use out of the disc's & just change out the pads for some shiny new sinted jobbies, now one mate says na you should do new pads n disc at the same time and another mate says pffff putting new pads onto older disc's is fine. Im inclined to agree with him.

What's your thoughts or more importantly your personal experience with this?

ps: yes $$$ are tight right now as im on ACC

    But not for much longer

so long as there is plenty of contact for the pads on the disc and they're legal the pads will bed in no problems...
Has it ever bothered you that Therapist is The Rapist if you break the word in two? It bothers me, especially when they suggest hypnosis.

Cool, thanks for that mate. That's what I said to the mate saying no. He's an engineer & a damn good one at that but super super fussy.

Put new pads on and run the disks down as long as the brakes are still responsive you will be fine. If you want I can find out some prices up here see if Corsa Wreckers have any disks laying around.

ello mate, nah you dont need to change the discs for a long while!

that is unless you are upgrading the entire braking system, ie; hoses, calipers, etc......then yes maybe it might be worth it?
i wouldnt want to be caught dead in the same grave as me.

Yeah.... what are those 200US wavy discs like? Post up the brand name if you find them again. Out of interest, the $380 Suzuki ones, how long did the pair you have last?

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
