expressions of interest gisborne trip Ride reports

I am planning a ride from Ashurst to Ashurst going through the following places

    Taihape-Turangi-Taupo-Rotorua-Opokiti-Gisborne-Napier

Will be spending the night of the 10th in Gisborne with a BBQ dinner and will be spending as much time of the state highways as possible between the main centres so all country road hazzards will exist

the ride is open too all that are interested..........you can do the whole ride or just part of the ride whichever suits your lifestyle

meeting points along the way will be mainly major intersections and fuel stops with lunch on the 10th being in Rotorua and lunch on the 11th being in Napier

I will be posting the entire route with distance's and times of ETA's within the next few weeks

For any out of towners wishing to do the complete circuit I am sure we can find a bed or couch for you with local Kber's

As for Accomadation in Gisborne it will be wise to bring a sleeping bag

let me know if your keen to join in and if you will require accomadation either in Palmy on the friday night or Gisborne on the saturday night

    register your attendance here

Im in. I would be interested in east cape though. I think there would be enough time. If not east cape then something like the map below could be a go taking in western access at taupo and then round the lakes at rotorua.

Sounds good. I especially like the idea of back roads.

does leg 2 take in western access? If it doesnt then it should.

put it this way you will be lucky to get more than 30minutes ride time on SH1 between Ashurst and Taupo and yes some of the western access is included
