but there is still no need to be cut off in the manner some pratt did the other day, as well as cut off 3 or 4 other vehicles... (I'm not actually saying it was hayd3n) but if it was and I see him in the flesh... I probably would, punch his fucken lights out...

So I guess he best not admit it if it was him... Who ever it was is going to be a temparary kiwi-biker and another statistic, as well as giving other bikers a bad name for his or her antics... (which in turn the gooberment of this fucked up country will force even more regulations upon rest of us biker, up our rego and ACC again add more tax to petrol because its a bike... and all because of pratts like that...

what about a comparison between the GSX250 and VTR250?

Im keen to get either, i like the looks of the gsx, but have heard they have carburation problems. How true is this and how much of an issue is it to make the vtr so much more preferable?

GSX250's would be good if they just weren't so shit... VTR250's are awesome, so are their slightly smaller counter-parts, the CB250F (the new ones that almost look identical to the VTR, but they're a single-cylinder)
There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there? -Clerks

    Fuel consumption

    FYI

My 2000 VTR - is just about to tick over 300km on a tank (open road riding) - and I haven't even switched to reserve yet.

I'm stoked - as before I got it serviced it only managed 260km before puttering out and having to swtich to reserve.

    - edit: 320km

    Got one. (2007 model)
    Pros:
Chearish to run. (i blew the clutch with while doin burnouts, i know im an idiot, but honda dealer fixed it for only around 400$, which isnt too much considering the damage)
Good fuel range, around 300 km for a tank when u ride in town)
Very VERYYYYYYY easy to ride, very forgiving too.
Reasonable for a 250 stability on higher speeds.
    Light.
Good ground clearance, it can go fast around tight bends.
Its okayish when u have a passager.
Preatty comfy for long rides (350km +).
Has some torque. (most of the times can smoke 4 cylinder 250s of the line)
    Not bad finish.
    Its a honda.

    Cons:
    BORING BORING BORING.
No top end at all. It gets to a 105-110 and then it just sorta goes with the wind rly.
Top speed is around 155 and then it starts to hit the red line. I could only get to 155 down the slope. In the straight line it maxes out at around 145.
Tight gear ratio with only 5 gears. Makes alot of buzz on the mway, 100 km in 5th gear = 7 000 rmp.
Not as much equimpent as some of the compeditors.
    Ugly IMHO.
    I could never admire it.
Very much feels like a noob bike for noob riders.

Hey, Ther engine on my Spada has just kicked it. Because of the bike seems quite rare, i am struguling to find a decent engine for it. However there are a few good smashed VTR's out there. i know the VTR produces sligtly less power, lower revs and only has a 5-speed, but is it possable to transplant the engine into the spada? The engines look very similar in pictures (aside from the sump). the VTR mounts at differnt points, but the old mounts still "look" like they are there....any imformation would be great
