Me & my family are all big cat lovers!! My olds had a problem with a neighbours cat coming over & terrorising my cat (who resided at their place at the time) & coming in the catdoor & eating the catfood.

They borrowed a cage from the local vet & put it inside the catdoor at night. They caught the pesky cat.. took it outside & set the hose on it while it was locked in the cage.. then let it go

Never had a problem with it coming back again!!!!

EDIT: only reason I'm doing this is because its started to piss on my house and car.
ever had one piss on your hemet, cause you thought you were entitled to leave the helmet on your own doorstep, or piss on your kids carseat when you park the car with the window open?

an hour under the laundry basket with the lawn sprinkler for company and I never saw him again

Well said, that man. I've done the same to cats I've not wanted in my yard, and encouraged my neighbours to do the same to my cats if they were being a nuisance in theirs.

A far better approach than some gun-happy hyper-sensitive possibly premenstrual juvenile Rambo wannabes... ah, fuckit. I've made my point.

Ah, this so cracks me up!

Hmmm... a common trend appearing here. Unwelcome cats, traps, cages, garden sprinklers... And all of them completely successful.

Drowning stray cats is radical. However declawing and neutering them all is quite a reasonable measure. What's cat's lifespan anyway?
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule

Far longer if you look after then properly.

My aunt has two cats that are approaching the age of 20. Neither are allowed out to trespass. Both are declawed. Both are leading happy lives.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

    Thumbs down

if you see the damage that cats do to our wild life i wonder if you would be cat lovers
i like cats if they belong to some one else or dead

Use a shotgun instead of drowning. Quicker and more humane.

Im not a cat lover, infact, apart from my work I tend to avoid them. However, declawing is not the making of a 'happy' cat! equivilant to tail docking etc??? Our practice policy is against it, as are many. I guess it's equivilent to removing all your finger/toenails (including the nail bed itself......sounds painful to me!!), only we don't rely on them half as much a a cat. Your aunt has removed all her cats natural inhibitions! I would suspect they would be better off humanly bopped, and she should replace them with goldfish!
