Well cats aren't innocentDogs don't sneak into peoples homes and pee all over their furniture, a cat bite can cause a nasty infection, a cat claw swipe to the eyes (or anywhere else) can cause irrepairable damage, Pet rabbits, birds and guinea pigs get killed causing emotional trauma to children, the neighbours cat shitting in their garden or elsewhere can cause a pregnant woman to lose her unborn child.....need I go on
Non of which makes it onto the 6.00pm news - unlike dog news

And as for all this "you kill my cat I'm gonna kill you" bullshit. HA HA HA.
Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.
No way to fence in a cat, they like to climb things...all you'd be doing is giving them entertainment.
And if anyone touched my cats I'd be doing what ever they did to them 3 times over.![]()
BTW, cats are tuff little buggers. I've swung them round and banged their head on things like doors, tables etc, hit them with cricket bats over the head, thrown them as far as I can by the tail and they just get up and walk away. Respect.

Gotta admit, if a neighbour drowned my cat, his birth certificate would become a worthless document.
I guess the old fart that was on the news has wuss neighbours - nobody has found him head first in his water barrel yet. That'd be poetic justice...
We have a cat - it's 13 and it likes me (apparently but frankly I think it's just using me) cos i feed it.... I don't like it because it does not feed me, comfort me or do anything other than wreck the furniture, make a mess, kill birds (I like birdies) and give me the sneezes... Its an arrogant sob as well...
Some people think possums are fluffy critters as well - they are not, but I think they got the same PR company that cats did when they evolved... People LIKE cats but ignore what the damn things get up to when they are not working (cat work involves meowing, purring and sitting on laps, sleeping on freshly made beds and that cutesy stuff)...
I like birds in the garden, the bush and all about... Cats kill birds - I don't dislike cats particularly but I'm not all soppy about the damn things either..
Cheers
See I have no problem with someone letting my cats know not to come back to there place...I'm in the process of scaring of some persons cat from mine, but in a non injuring way (e.g. throwing soft stuff at them etc)...but if you do damage...thats another story
EDIT: only reason I'm doing this is because its started to piss on my house and car.
Ive had many cats over the years. All of them strays and all of them I had neitered or speyed. The SPCA new me well as I would borrow cages for sick cats or get a discount on the desexing.my vet bills were narly.
Fortunatly where I live now there isnt as much of a problem and I have my 3 boys which Ive had for years. Its the same as kids..people who are responsible will do the right thing.I would happily register my cats but as I never colar them for fear of them getting caught up in a tree,it would have to be a microchip. My cats are too well fed and too lazy to bother catching wildlife but in saying that they are still capable
.I would have no problem keeping them in at night if it was made law but the motley crew(my cats) wouldnt like it as they are far too long in the tooth to be retrained.

I like cats. I've had lots of them.
There was one hanging around my neighbourhood once, though, that was beating up on my wee kitten and terrorising the neighbour's cat. Poor neighbour had her cat on fucking antidepressants because its behaviour had gone so wacko under the stress.
So I enticed the unspayed tom in question into my backyard with a plate of mince, gave it a pat, shot it in the back of the head with the .22, put it in a rubbish bag and stuffed it in my wheelie bin.
In the end, they're just animals. They should be treated with care and respect, never cruelly, but not anthropomorphised.
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.

The soft stuff doesn't work. Cats don't scare that way. Their built in defense mechanism deals with soft toys and yelling. Not until you actually scare the shit out of it and it thinks it was lucky to get out alive will it decide not to come back, and even then some of more plucky/stupid ones ignore that as well. I have years of feline psychology experience behind me, believe me I know what I'm talking about.
You give the cat one chance to learn, but you have to "learn" it well. After that it "swims with the fishes".
