If abuse occurs in normal conversation the abuser could expect a punch in the mouth.
Societies need rules and regulations in order to function properly and prevent anarchy.
As we see on KB nothing is kept pure and perfect, many people voice differing points of view. But when personal attacks occur, something has to be done. Just like in everyday life, every action has a reaction.
Moderators are needed to keep this site functioning, just as society needs moderators.

PS Thanks Joni for doing a good job as a moderator. Hope to meet up with you at the KB Birthday Party in CHCH.

I have spoken with Spank and instead of withdrawing completely from the KB mod team, I will be moving away from my day interaction with the KB members and taking care of stuff behind the scenes.

Just a note from me: I have put my everything into this site, it seems that it’s not enough for some. People have lost “Joanne” somewhere… and all everyone seems to see is Joni this internet “thing” that you can say and do what you like to. My good friend Jimmy (White Trash) once told me I’m too sensitive to do the Mod thing, I think he was right.

I’m here if you need help, advice what ever… I will help where ever I can, just not the drama and abuse. I’m over that part.

Joanne, you have always had my support as a Mod and a person. Good on you for making a change for your sake. Thanks for doing such a great job in difficult circumstances - Yes - there are some monumental dickheads on this website with brains barely big enough to cover a small waterbiscuit.... you have done a job most of us would shy away from, not to mention never have the spare time to do!

Cheers! See you sometime and buy you a beer! or wine! (mmm beer and wine........ drool!!)

I'm a Silly Billy, everyone knows that. I ask dumb questions and suggest things that I should know better about. Through all of this, you've been good enough to humour me - Thanks Joni. Enjoy your retirement (from Modding... )

Thanks for everything Joni. You've done a great job, with no pay, and on your own time.

    Respect.

I'm not back, just stepped in to say goodbye to a dear friend. I've cried a river tonight. The internet won't be the same.

Poor girl. Part of me felt sorry for her. She's only 18 and in an interview she said she was so nervous that she only heard about 2 words of the question. Still, you might argue her answer was perfect in that it was probably a better response than most middle class Americans. Kinda like asking 80% of Kiwi's what the EFB is all about... No it's not about rugby.

And yet none of this matters. With her looks, some 80 year old Texas oil baron will win her heart.

Mm hmm. The general mockery in response to her cockup was simple schadenfreude.

Personally, I prefer to take it easy on dumb blondes when they embarrass themselves.

All the best Joni. I hope all works out
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

If you walk back through time certain members discussed about Beer and Scotch in various threads. I'm not going to name names, but lets just say the temptation is there for those who should not be tempted.
And no it wasnt Joni - she's been a doll.
I do not take any quarrel with her.
