Edit: I've still got a turntable and it is used frequently - it's in the garage and is hooked up to a Pye amp and speakers.

Righto, back on topic - can anyone remember what it was?

The answers, all clockwise from top left:

70 - Rolf Harris, Johnny Farnham, Eric Burdon, The Hollies, Diana Ross and the Supremes.

71-72 - Elton John, Andy Williams, Nilsson, Janis Joplin, Michael Jackson.

73-74 - Carly Simon, Elton John, David Essex, Tony Orlando and dawn, Diana Ross.

75 - The Captain and Tennille, Bob Hudson, Roger Whittaker, Abba, The Sweet.

76 - Rod Stewart, Elton John, Cliff Richard, Sherbet, Abba.

77 - Andy Gibb, Leo Sayer, Rita Coolidge, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Burton Cummings.

78 - Bob Welch, Olivia Newton-John, Meatloaf, Graham Bonnet, Plastic Bertrand.

79 - Robert John, Debbie Harry (Blondie), Kiss, KC and the Sunshine Band, Promises.

The two obscure ones for me were Bob Hudson (The Newcastle Song), and Plastic Bertrand (Ca Plane Pour Mois).

The ones that have lasted all the way to my mp3 playlist

70 - Johnny Farnham, Eric Burdon, The Hollies, Diana Ross and the Supremes.

71-72 - Elton John, Andy Williams - ( worth it for Big production numbers.), Nilsson,

73-74 - Carly Simon, Elton John, Diana Ross.

75 - Roger Whittaker, The Sweet.

76 - Rod Stewart, Elton John, Sherbet - no but Darryl's on there.

77 - Leo Sayer, (piss off - orchard road is a great song)

    78 - Meatloaf, Graham Bonnet,

79 - Debbie Harry (Blondie), KC and the Sunshine Band, Promises.

    all still on the rotation.

We hunted through our old albums searching for songs our daughter could use for a medley the year 13 girls put on at their farewell celebrations being held in November.

Brought back alot of memories (fond and not so), that we now have to have a nostalgia night or should that be month, as we have so many records.

Damn C4! The "Flashbacks" programme was brilliant for a weekly dose of '80s music but, alas, is no more.

    Terri Nunn of Berlin... mmmmm!

Thank f*ck nobody has mentioned the Bay City Rollers!
