    Wellington - Father's Day ride

Chris, Simon, Anton, and I left Duckpond and followed route across to coast then back up the inlet, when phone went off with text from HSVBoy - Simon, he was on his way from home to bottom of Paekakariki Hill - PH at SH1 to wait. We carried on from Pauatahanui village up to top of PH, few quick photos then on our way down the other side.

Simon and William were waiting at the BP for us. So off we went down to towards Paremata turned onto Grays Road along inlet and straight back up the PH. Met a few other riders at the top including Stewart, a very tall lad with his Hyosung 250.

We said our goodbyes, HSVBoy headed north from PH, Chris and William headed home. Anton, Simon and I had a coffee that we didn't stop for earlier at Pauatahanui, then Anton headed across to SH1 and home into town and Simon and I headed back to Stokes Valley.

I am pleased to have taken the new Hornet three times this week around the inlet and also the Paekakariki Hill, and today it was a real pleasure riding back down from the top back to Pauatahanui. Very pleased with the bike.

Elapsed time from home and back 4hrs total distance 125km.

    Heads Up and enjoy

I'd be happy to do a cafe circuit run like you did today if you do it again. That's if you don't mind a newbie 250 rider

    Hi Guy,

Sorry for the confusion at Pauatahanui when you arrived. I had arranged to meet at a mates place along Pikak road and when you turned left onto Greys Rd. I kept on going. From the sound of it, you must have turned around and followed me along pikak rd.
After having a coffee at my mates, we came back to Pauatahanui for him to fill up and then we went back to the top of PH, down onto SH1. Back to Paramata, left onto Greys rd. and decided to head over Haywards and up towards the Takas. Met up with Grub and Nasty at the top and went into the summit cafe for a coffee.

It was the first time my mate had been on the hill on his bike. He's not ridden for about 11 years and has just got himself an Intruder which he is still getting used to. So todays ride was just a little bit of a tootle around for me so that he could get his confidence back.

I didn't recognise you at first when you pulled into Pauatahanui. You were incognito with the matching Hornet and Alpine jacket. I'll maybe catch up with you on the next ride.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

We came, We listened, And in one voice we answered
    BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!

Few of the guys headed up Paekakariki Hill PH , they turned around and we did the inlet ciruit then PH loop back down SH1 back inlet and up to top of PH again.

Look forward to catching up with you this spring.

    Heads Up and Enjoy
