Does it make any attempt to fire, like cough cough at any stage whilst it's turning over, or is simply dead as?

This might be silly.. Have you turned off the ignition and turned it back on and tried stating it again. I know some of the Dukes won't start it you left the ignition on for more than 15 second without starting it.

Is your red Kill switch on or off?? (It happens I know... LOL)

A couple of thoughts, apart from those already checked,
    1. Side stand up, out of gear, Kill switch on.. :-) I know, blindingly obvious BUT.
    2. When you turn on ignition do you hear the injector/fuel pump running up to pressure? (mine does) hear slight hum as it pumps up..
    3. Is it definately Petrol in the tank? again I know its obvious :-)
4 you didnt per chance get a contaminated load of petrol/water from the SS, it happens...

As i havnt own a injected bike before, im no too sure on what has happened,
As i said the bike felt like it was running out of gas, the petrol gauge was on empty, bike was surging, felt like sumtimes there was very little gas then bike would pick up again.
as i pulled up to the pumps bike wouldnt idle.
fulled up tank, took a couple of attemps at starting bike then ran,

after about 20 to 30 seconds bike seemed to run rough,
as i pulled up to my drive way, bike stalled,
    tried restarting, no luck.
    left bike overnight,
    tried again today, no luck.
backfired a couple of times, but doesnt sound if there is petrol, or spark.

turn key on, i can hear petrol pump working.

Yeah buddy, you've got spark, otherwise you'd get no backfiring

Sounds like you've sucked the crap from the bottom of the tank (and by crap, probably just water).

Start with charging the battery whilst you undertake the other steps... a flat (or getting flat battery) will always foil attempts to make an unhappy engine go.

Drain the tank entirely, then fill it up with good gas. Not sure if a 12r is a recirc system, maybe someone else will. If it does return unused gas to the tank, then that should be enough to make it go, assuming you haven't murdered the plugs.

    Hi

'Don't run injected bikes out of gas" is a rule you should partake in - always.

    Cheers

Good to hear its fixed but as a note, on injected bikes as with injected cars the fuel runs through the pump cooling and lubing it, running out of fuel can stuff a pump in no time.

If there is not enough pressure because the pump output is low the bike will very often miss and be very sluggish.

Avoid running injected engines out of fuel.
