    Shoei helmets?

It's my birthday next month and Mrs. B is buying me a replacement helmet as the current Shoei Raid is about 5 years old. I'd prefer to stick with the Shoei Brand. I bought the last one from Road and Sport in Hamilton as their customer service is excellent and I prefer to give them my business. However, the range is relatively limited and if I need to go elsewhere, who has the biggest Shoei range in Auckland (or anywhere else within 2 1/2 hours of Tokoroa)?

    Cheers,

    Geoff

I got my multitec from motomail and they had one of each size as long as you wanted black. Not a patch on what they used to stock.
They have a smattering of XR1000's and raids etc. But if you are after a particular shoei design I'd just ask road and sport etc to get one in for you to try as the importer is in Hamilton it shouldn't take long.

Peter Stevens Motorcycles in Melbourne have a huge range of Shoei helmets.
They are only 3 hours away.

    Wot Anthrax said!

When I replaced my Shoei (about a year ago), it was Motomail in Auckland that had the best range.....

Great folks to deal with too!

Boyd Honda are 2 doors away from Road and Sport. They've got a few more Shoei's in there. Otherwise any decent bike shop will order in helmets for you to try on as they get them on buy or return terms, so they have a week to return them or selling them. And with the Hamilton stores you can get Shoei's, KBC's or Arai's with no freight charge because the stores can get their hairies to stop in and pick them up from the wholesaler.

Thoroughly recommend http://www.j-helmet.com/ although he only does graphic X-11's.

price includes shipping and my helmet took 3 working days to get here from when I sent the money.

No worries with customs as the value was marked at a nominal amount.

Delivered as it comes from the factory in the box with bag, cleaning/service kit and a very mildly tinted visor.

When I looked for a replacement helmet 18 months ago, Tauranga had a shit range of Shoeis. Hence, I did a similar thing to Fatjim and got one from overseas. It landed here in 5 days and cleared customs no worries. If the Greenback stays good, I'll keep buying my stuff online because it costs about half price. But that's me, miserable.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. I prefer to try them on for obvious reasons rather than mail order which presumably carries some degree of risk in terms of fit. I'll have a look in Hamilton first but if I can't see anything to take my fancy there or in Auckland, I'll be in Melbourne on business in November so thanks for the heads-up Masterchop

hey buddy I had a $1000-00 Shoei for years didn't think I would find another that was as good if it wasn't a Shoei. I never had to wear ear plugs when all my riding buddis where from wind noise.
But after taking the Shark RSR2 for a ride. I choose it. The graphics are so overstated on some, but each to his own. Even the complicated graphics in the Shark range seem tastefull.

The main thng was the helmet rode so well, noise, weight, air flow (at speed), ventalation, bloody awesome!

Mines a Shark RSR2 supra black.

Got mine from Mt Eden under insurance but pretty sure they sourced it from Cycletreds. Who do quite good deals if you talk the talk!!

Just to give you an option from one who has recently purchased, if you want it.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

I have the XR1000 Matrick. I tried an XR1000 on at a local store, went away to think about it then went back and ordered the Matrick. Mail order's okay, but I'm uneasy (morally) about using the store service of trying something on then buying it cheaper elsewhere. I bought some boots at the same time and they did a great deal on the package.

It's a lovely helmet, nice and quiet, lightweight but not too flashy, in my opinion.
