Go on then......$08 ninja will definatly be coming around the start of next year and the price tag is very very appealing
Liquid cooled? Who gives a shit?
All liquid cooling allows you is more engineering tolerances so you can build a higher revving/compression motor.
Part of the reason why the GPX has 38 claimed horsepower.
However 38hp out of an aircooled motor would be a hell of a lot better. Less maintenance -- but more importantly less weight, better aerodynamics, less to fail.
Bigger carbs and higher compression are nothing to brag about either. All they allow you is the 38hp; other than that they don't mean squat.
The GT250R and the GPX250 are both good solid commuting bikes. Neither are leagues ahead of the other. Delusionz, I understand the passion for your bike -- hell I love my little CB250RS, which most for most people isn't very exciting -- but there's no need to shit all over other people's rides, especially when yours isn't especially better.
xerxesdaphat I was just stating the differences as to why I chose it. And retorting to claims that it doesn't have more 10 more HP and that it's ugly.
I think facts are better to work with than "shitting" on bikes..
I never said Hyosungs a POS and only homos ride it or whatever as thats no reason to choose one over another... Hard facts about what it has what it doesn't have, What it does what it doesn't do are better reasons.
Now back to what I came to this thread to ask, Why would you trade an 07 carbed for an 08 FI? Theres probably no noticeable difference and you would probably be paying atleast an extra 1k maybe 2
one thing I dont understand Is , why they do not suppply the 250 ninja in Kawaka Lime green ? at least there is a silver one coming our way which I think is much more beautiful than the BLAAACKhope they get the green , one can only hope. do you know how much is does repainting if fairings cost ?
AMEN!
I'll dicuss the pro's and con's of different 250's till the cows come home but refuse to have POWER be a deciding factor! If you want power and your criteria for a bike is cost, style and weight to (over?) simplify things get a friggen 400! or a 600 which are really light too these days and they'll be newer than most 250's the same price too the way our crapped up learner market is being choked by dealers etc at the moment.
Delusions, to calculate speed on a 250 you don't need to know the max power as much as the average power in the revs you use in each gear. Did you see Top Gear where they got an EVO 9 and a 1600cc diesel Nissan Station wagon and had a drag race from idle? The wagon got to the end of the runway before the Evo came on boost! If you look at a dyno map the time taken for a car to reach a certain speed is dictated by the area under the curve in the graph not the peak power. Statistics. I'm not saying I know which bikes faster cos I haven't lined two of them up or seen any stats on 0-100 times etc but don't be fooled by thinking one number on the spec sheet tells the whole story.
I was also temped to say next time I see you I'm gonna cane your ass on my bike with 3/4 of the power but I won't.
I'm selling my new riding gear!! Only worn a few times get a deal Kiwibikers!!

Well I started on a 50cc as it was the only thing I could drive with my license at the time, I thought I would just pass the 2 wheeler phase upon getting a restricted car license but something happened and I fell in love with motorbikes and all of a sudden didn't really give a shit about cars anymore so I went and got my bike learners, Maybe from that you could understand why I wanted power because at that stage I had no idea about bikes and all I could think of was how fucking slow scooters are.
PS. Don't forget 250cc's don't have a 130kph first gear, So you can take them up to peak power within a few metres but yeah even then theres no G's when you pull.
TBH the main thing for me wasn't the higher output, but was a pleasant surprise hence I didn't list it first. It was more the fact that when I jumped on a GT250R I couldn't move it anywhere, Then jumped on the GPX, and wheeled it out and about while sitting on it with the engine off, I knew which one I was getting.
Some people above really know how to pick things out of context dude. It was never about power alone, ofcourse If it was I would have gotten a 2nd hand 2 smoker or an IL4
It seems that you have taken what I said out of centext. What I was getting at in regards to power is that, when its such a small amout, weather it be 28 or 38, its not worth even talking about. LIke Pancakes said, if you want power, get a bigger bike.
Anyway, at the end of the day it comes down to how the bike feels to you.
While you sit there liking things just cos' everyone else does, I'll be standing up here keeping it real.
price on the new ninjas will now be around 9 grand maybe abit less
and MIGHT be here by christmas
Plus Im prety sure there only coming in green but well see![]()
