Thread: Drying the inside of a gass tank.... what is the best way?

    id go with this but i wouldent use a litre if there is a cup of water in it you need to shake it out first as you dont exactly want a litre of meths just sitting open inside

    Well i have gotten all the water (i think) out. There is still a few rust particals in there that i have not figgered out how to get out.

    Very. But not long enuff to pick up the little bits of rust lol.
    Had a closer look at the pain, the half that the sticker was mostly gone on has been resprayed, and baddly. The old sticker is still under the paint lol

    Rust flakes should dry out, and then be easier to blow out.

    Use a vacuum cleaner to get the particles out. you probably won't get 'em all but the tank is designed in order that particles shouldn't get sucked into the fuel pipe.

    I've got a set up for my old vacuum-cleaner that has two or three different dia. hoses stepped down until the end one is a section of 3/8th rubber fuel hose - gets where a normal vacuum-cleaner hose can't.

    Well i am going to star the coating process tonight, am taking the bike over to katman wed for him to have a look and do the brake measure ( thanks man) and then it is fitting the new indicator and fixing the throttle cable (maby even when it is in taupo) then into compliance as soon as possible after that, helpfully Monday week.
    So yea i am happy.

    Well the process has begiun, the etching compound is in the tank, will be out tomorro morning then in with the H2O remover then in with the final sealer.... then back on the bike, new indicator and i am away laughing!
