Its not that legendary actually, but Im looking to sell it before heading overseas (and basically trademe is gonna cost $60, so im putting it here while the money goes into trademe & i can list)
zxr250 1990 model (A)
done 34200 kms
still goes pretty good, but needs the carbs tuned up for it to be mint. that said, she had no problem pulling me and half my bellongings down to the cold kiwi and back. - top speed i have had her to is in excess of 180km - then i ran out of guts, not the bike.
Has had a pretty hard life, asthetically pretty crap (see photos) but mechanically pretty good.
when i got her she was pretty run down, but now shes running pretty well ... in the 5ish months i have owned her i have done (or had done) the following...
oil and filter (twice)
Both front fork seals
New tyres front and back (BT14 on the front and a Dunlop sportmax thing on the back)
rear brake pads.
new spark plugs.
new chain and sprockets.
new air filter.
replaced the flasher unit (for indicators - because the idiot before me had put the wrong one in *sigh*)
I would love to sell her to a KB'er as i know the rest of her days will be well spent and maintained, and if someone was to race her i would be grinning ear to ear.
looking for around $2500. dont mind delivering as long as there is a garauntee that cash is there, and some gas money/return trip money is sorted out if its that far away.
test rides are fine, but i dont want anyone to crash her on the test - that would be no fun.
Have previously had a quote of $700 for the 3 main farings and a mudguard from just farings, plus there is a bloke on here who was painting bikes for around $400 - cant go wrong with that, as the mint ones go for $4k plus on trademe
