    Ticket scalping

Funny stuff, I have just been checking out the Warriors ticket auctions on tardme.
It seems to be getting a bit carried away with people bidding $3000+ for a set of tickets, albeit in an attempt to sabotage the auctions.
There are a heap of questions on most of the auctions from irate and angry people hurling abuse at the sellers.
Enter "warriors eels" into the search box on tardme and amuse yourself for a short time.

As a lightly serious question... How can scalping be curbed?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

Given the choice, I'd rather watch an ant take a shit than watch football.

When that crap comes on the box I channel surf.

According to TV there is a plan for dudes to bid about $1,000,000 for the tickets to screw the scalpers.

So screw the scalpers!! I wouldn't buy tickets off scalpers on principle I'd sooner see them stuck with spare tickets and their money gone.
    Cheers

On the news tonight tickettek said that they are watching the auctions and any tickets that are sold above the ticket price they will cancel as per the conditions printed on the tickets.

Some people will be very upset to find that they have had when they turn up to find their highly priced tickets are worthless.

The warning has gone out... dont buy tickets at more than the listed price or one will be throwing away their hard earned dosh

Can't they just return them to Ticketek for a refund or resale?

Not a huge Warriors fan I admit, more of a rugby gal myself, but.........this team has worked hard and their fans have been there all along. To reach the final of the competition is fantastic, and the loyal fans should not be excluded from being able to get a ticket via normal chanels.

To the entreprenuial scalpers.........a pox on you!

When the U2 concert was on in Nov last year i wanted to take my Lady but didn't have a spare ticket so i done the stupid thing and brought one of trademe for $300 and a GA was $100.

So i paid the money and the ticket arrived in the mail but looked sus but was assured that it was lagit so didn't think about so went to concert and got there early and got put in a tent for 3 hours before getting to the gate and to my almost suprise the ticket wouldn't scan so i'm thinking "great looks like i'm not going to see it after all" but the security guy took the ticket off me and i was allowed thru to enjoy the best concert of my life pitty that Kanye West had to be there

Theses Scalpers are filth and should be hang drawn and quartered i don't regert buying the ticket cause it was great for us as a couple to share that moment. But i would never do it again

The Park owners buy beer for $1 and resell it for $4 and you cannot take your own in.Surely that is no different to a scalper buying a ticket for $20 and selling it for $50.The market place will determine wether it is sold at the market rate.Do you really want to live in a country where there is a law that says you cannot make a profit on something you buy and then resell.

That wont work, you'll just get someone selling a $300 ballpoint pen with free tickets.

If someone wants the tickets enough, they'll pay. We were lucky enough to get tickets to the Eric Clapton concert in January, if we hadn't got them legitimately, I would have paid a scalper whatever price they wanted. It's supply and demand.

And I'd love to see ticketek try to cancel the tickets. How do they prove ticket numbers/seat numbers without someone telling them specifically, and who is going to do that?? This of course, assumes they aren't dumb enough to put photos of the actual tickets on the auction, which most people don't do.

And that is a perfect example of a double standard. "I hate scalpers unless they help me"
