If you want a serious answer, best you get a bit more specific and give us some details.

I bought my bike over from Brisbane three weeks ago and compliancing and a year's registration costs all up were under NZ$400, but I knew before hand that my bike was in A1 condition and would go straight through.

Ceck out the NZ customs and immigration web sites. Sorry don't have the link.
    Welcome to the mad house.
    Definitely bring the RG500.

It's no dramas for one bike.

Just make sure you have all the documentation. Ownership, rego, receipts.

The authorities are more interested in GST and taxes (which you don't have to pay unless you sell the bike) than anything else. They may give you a harder time with multiple bikes and suspect you of selling them.

An RG though? The fares are worth more than the bike.

I don't know Suzukis very well, but I guess it's pretty rare now?

But what's it worth? - against 2-3K for the fares and expenses return.

A good RG500 is quite a rare/desirable beaste. Maybe 5---8k depending on its state.
Canning a RG500 around some NZ Track Days/ Twisties, is something unique.
Mate had one back in the 80s. F**k'n weapon in the right hands,(not mine).

I used Pickfords. Ask them. Or any customs agent.

I 'reckon' you'll have to do some sharp talking to convince customs that you don't intend to sell them.

They will require you to get a valuation for each bike and sign a stat dec that if you do sell them within 24 months - you will pay the outstanding gst.
