    Update on Vagabond

Went up to see him tonight after work,He's lookin ok.He's up and mobile now(with the help of crutches). We escorted him outside for a smoke, the furthest he's gone so far. They removed a splinter of bone from his back and have pinned the bone above and below T12 to it so it will fuse together.
He should be out later this week.

Thanks so much for that death! I have been wondering how my fellow South African was doing. I am glad he will soon be out.

As a fellow 'fused' person (I've got vertebrae L4 and L5 fused following being hit by a car driver), he has my sympathy!

Please tell him to listen to the physios, do all that they tell him and he'll be surprised how quickly he can recover. I think I was back on the bike in under six weeks following the operation - I was definitely back in work under a month.

Back on the bike, yes, all well and good. But back to work? Give the guy a break- let him string it out a bit..!
Good to hear he's on the mend.

this is good news indeed, I agree with Jaz, he should have a suitable time to recover before heading back to work,

Bloody good to see ya back on here VB!

Don't bother trying to read all the unread posts. Basically, everyone else has thrown their bikes down the road, and those that haven't have got speeding tickets.

There is a suspicion that someone has angered the biker gods, and we are currently looking for a virgin sacrifice to appease them.
