In fact, I don't think I took that pic. Maybe that was from the previous owner who I bought it off.

I think so as it has an Oz Vin plate. But no paperwork. When I came to NZ I knew nothing about bike paperwork. Anyway, now it's an offroad machine. If your still interested PM me ...

What's your DR? OK - just saw it - DR650. Nice. Hope you get the paperwork sorted. To put mine on the road I'd need a frame with paperwork. Happy with its off-road looks now.

yeah the old DR500's look ptetty good without the road crap on them.
check this site out- http://www.suzukicycles.org/ -i'd love to get a hold of the 81 DR for off road and the yellow 82 model for the road, i had the yellow one in my teens, i wish i never sold her. Awesome ride

    Hi Kiwibikers

I have had my 1981 DR500 for 19 years. It's done 116,000k on the clock and I have just completed 100,000K of that. The motor hasn't been touched. Just about to retire the bike from road use and use it for off road only. I have never taken the carby off, just chains, oil and filter, tyres, plugs. Still on the original throttle cable. On its second clutch cable now. Still original paint. Seat is taped up of course now. Great bike, always started 1st-2nd kick.

    Have attached a piccy!
