A quick message before the AB's kick off... should be at least 5-10 riders from my talks to people. Weather is supposed to be showers in the AM, but then again if you looked at today's forecast (absolutely stunning day in Akl), showers had also been forecasted by the same so-called weather experts.
I suggest you come along, you may get caught in a shower or two but unlikely to be continous. If the roads are wet we'll just slow down and enjoy the scenary. Our rides are usually split in to two groups anyhow (slow and faster).
Damn. I'm all worn out (and poor) from McJim's farewell ride. I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to make tomorrow![]()
yea, nearly had that one too
well inexperienced in that i'm yet to crash, but i think "dangerously impatient and aggressive" would better describe my riding. if i'm in a group i calm down a bit and prefer to follow someone so i don't get ahead and can't write myself off - same reason i prefer dirt riding cause i'm less likely to badly hurt myself and dropping/crashing my bike won't hurt it (or anyone else).
and i'm smart enough to NOT get an r6 - i know i'll be dead/crippled within the week
just come anyway, and if it's rain out here i'll consider cancelling or shortening - but i doubt that'll happen unless the weather is quite bad
remember rain in auckland does NOT mean rain on the waitaks
ok, i just checked out metservice's maps and my reckoning tells me the weather will be fine
probably cloudy - but if it discourages traffic to the beaches that's a good thing as far as i'm concerned.
and a quick question; it looks like my front brake discs are taking on a purple hue, probably from heat (you should've seen the brake dust on the white rims!). now everything still works and i checked that the calipers never got that hot using the trusty thumbometer, but those discs got damn warm - should i be concerned?
It's drizzling down now lol
and there are some 35kph S-corners on the way down to Piha as you guys know, still keen? lol
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
don't discourage them!
it isn't raining here
the cloud is lifting
there won't be much traffic to the beaches
the roads are wet though....
decide at symonds, for those who are man enough to still show up
