Some hard advice but its true Kyle heard some bad thing about the FZR engine most on the 400cc's. But yeah a new VTR250 will even have 2 years manufacturers warranty.

Hmmm a CBR MC14 engine in a FZR? You thinking what I'm thinking a project !! Yeah I think the ZXR engine might be a little too wide but the CBR engine gonna need a lot of new mounts.

Hi Kyle are you able to buy your old FZR from the insurance company? offer them 300 bucks and see what they say. Might be able to turn that into a streetfighter....

lol just grab the old fzr engine.

nah i reckon the cbr engine should fit nicely with a bit of welding/modification of mounts - probably be easier than the rebuild lol

now i dont have any of my yzf or vfr (nor my old gsxr), but here's some from an xr200 - my very first rebuild way back in the summer of 2005

i didn't take pictures of the valves, just the reassembly of the engine/bike. i had re-seated the valves, cleaned everything up (port &polish), and given it new rings.

i cleaned up the carby, got the timing and fuel right and made a proper air filter

i later built it a new muffler and tuned that through an ingenious design feature and then dismantled the front forks and replaced the oil seals

all in all it was a foundation to all the work i've since done on all my other bikes - well worth learning and has saved me thousands

stupid kb won't let me put up all 29 in the series...

Hope things go better from now on. Lucky you had Blackbuell around. That guy is a legend.

Apart from once being a factory dirt bike racer he also mentored this fella called Ray Clee as an apprentice.

cbrr - ol' faithful and with an appropriate number or Rs
fzr - maybe he just isn't meant to ride one, but 3rd time's a charm!
zxr - will go fast (lol pun, trademe AND riding)

god dammit i forgot to check if they were in auckland

Its waiting for a new piston, and new cylinder lining, and new magneto, and new gear change forks, and several new cogs...... and and and
