Help, I need an IRD number!

i need to get an IRD number, i have spoken to soneone on the fone and they told me to print an online form off (IR595), only problem is i dont have a printer and they wont mail me a form out!

anyone have any ideas please?

go to ird should be on in your town they will have one there you can full in

Get on the 0800 and speak to someone higher up the foodchain till you get satisfaction, they will break at some point short of Peter Dunne.

well i looked on yellow.co.nz for "IRD napier" no matches found. then i looked for "inland revenue" and i get, "the office assitant"???

The IRD number you get when you first start working stays with you for life. Can you confirm that you don't have one and never had???

I could be wrong, but I thought IRD numbers could be issued by IRD over the phone.

i have never had an IRD number, thats why i need one!

and yes you are wrong, they cannot be done over the phone. they told me i had to print a form off the website, fill it in, put in a copy of passport and send it off to wellington!

the number was 0800 549 472, it is from one of the inland revenues own forms next to where it says "if you dont know your IRD number or you dont have one, call us on 0800 549 472"!

Well, it looks like the only option is to go into the local IRD office. They'll sort it.

i would, but i cant find an address for the office, see one of my previous posts on this thread. i have looked on yellow.co.nz and it gave me the options i stated above.

i also have looked on the IRD website for regional offices and i cannot find an address there either.

maybe im looking in the wrong places?

You're right - I can't find anything either.

You would have to phone them back and ask.

They deal with child support, but still part of the IRD so might be able to print out the form and give you a hand with it.

Its been 7 yrs since I lived there, but they used to be on Shakespare Rd - see map attached - IRD building marked as black circle. Unsure if they are still there or not. Stickchick has a remedy though also.
