Sunday Cruisy ride changed to Saturday 8th

    Hi All,
The ride i've organised for Sunday has now been changed to Saturday as the forecast looks great. Details are as follows:

    Saturday 8th September
1st Meet: BP Cavendish Dr, Manukau 9.30am to collect the southeners
    Depart: 10am(ish)

2nd Meet: Shell Westgate 10.30(ish) to collect the northeners
    Depart: 11am(ish)

    Destination: Mangawai for lunch
Route: Up 16, route negotiable if anyone knows some good back roads
Pace: Relaxed, anyone who wants a fang can head off on their own, newbs will need to be able to ride at open road speed limit

Be great to have some company
    Cheers, Draco

Might be there. Depends how hammered I am in the morn. will be with a pillion.

Havent been up to manga's for a while. Farking good run.

Its best to take SH16, turn off onto old north road, then peak road to join back on the 16 at kaukaupakaupapapapa.

There is a nice short cut between Warkworth and Wellsford, kinda via Tomarta, nice road (read twisties), if you miss the turn off you can still get onto it from Wellsford (turn right at top of shops opposite the tyre shop then turn left when you see the Mangawhai sign).

Just a note the road going into Mangawhai (about 10 k from Mangawhai) is a bit cut up at the moment, was up there last week, advice folks to ride around the cut outs as there are some big ruts/holes etc
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

They might be filled in by now *then again it took them 20 years to seal that road*, the cut outs are roughy 3/4 of the lane wide and vary in length, about 5 of them along the way. is easily do-able.

If you want the long way, Kiwaka (sp) is the way to go

The seal on the road from Mangawhai to Langs Beach is lifting as well, again is do-able just be a bit careful around the corners if anyone goes up further.
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.
