That picture is really dark, but I assume someone binned? I think I see a smashed headlight? Damn, hope everyone is ok, there are fricken way too many bins lately.

Ride safe ALL of you and lets hear the story about the pic?

Well, the day started off the same as the day before.. Meeting at shell westgate and departing off to wellsford again.

This time, there was only 3 riders, myself, and 2 others.

The ride was really great, I was leading the way, had an inexperienced rider in the middle, and an experienced rider at the back.

Got to wellsford with no dramas, on the way back at the intersection of Peaks rd and Old North, a couple of corners down old north and the inexperienced rider binned right behind me.

    *keeping them nameless btw*

I dont actually know what happened as i didnt see it, however my original thoughts were he was going to fast, saw the corner, and went oh crap... BRAKE - CHANGE DOWN HEAPS and lock the back wheel, however when we pulled his bike out it was in top gear, so maybe he braked to hard and slid the front end.

The rider reckoned he got a headshake, but i doubt it as i could keep it pinned through there (both on 250's) and it wouldnt break loose.

Long story short, doubled him back to my place, cleaned him up and off he went. The rider is ok apart from a few cuts and bruises. Nothing major.

The gear did a pretty good job considering. And luckily he landed short of the barbed wire fence.

Unfortunatley, i think we all have had a crash like this at one stage or another, I know i did, and it taught me new respect for the bike and how to handle those situations again.

Take it easy out there fellas!

I initially thought that Mr XYZ fell over on the tomato sauce leaking out his bike's breather tube..

Looks like indicator, blade, headlight, and I'm assuming fairings?

I've been having some success using cable ties as welding rods in plastic welding (Dodgyiti put me onto the idea) so Mr XYZ, if it can wait until after 14 Nov I'll have a crack at it for ya.

Otherwise KK is da man with plastic welds - eh Shade?

    Im ok...

The XYZ is me…First thing first.. Thanks a million to Shade, Karen (Spell??) and everyone else who helped me out. Just when I thought Im getting better, I came off!!!
I think I jumped on the break, locked the front. My bike didn’t like it at all, so threw me off.

Im ok, just couple of nasty bruises on both my knees. They are more annoying then painful. Happy, I walked out of such a high speed crash. Thanks I’m an IT guy and can go to work with shorts on.
Man, I wish I had leather pants on rather then Cordura. That’s the only thing that wasn’t leather.

Anyway, went to mt. Eden today after work. Had a look at my bike. Rocky saying, I need a top fairing, right one as well. Head light is fine, need a right mirror, front fairing brackets (specially the right one, as that took the whole impact.). It starts fine. All the panels are ok.

Now, I don’t know if it’s going to be worth fixing. Apparently front fairing is quite expensive and they reckon it’s not easy to get the second hand ones for ZZR. Might take the right fairing to reflection, not sure if they will be able to fix it though. As per ricky, NO WAY!!... So I wouldn’t mind to take all the help I can get

I might get a CBR 250RR. I just need to ride a lot more and learn. Until I came off I was having a ball trying to follow shade. Hopefully in 2/3 weeks time I will be sweet .

Sweet, but yeah look into getting the plastics welded mate. Can save mega bucks, I'm getting the same done eventually.

Got any pics of damage? Anything structural that will prevent legal road use?

Hey MR XYZDemon, have you still got all the bits from your fairings? If so get them plastic welded. You only really need a top fairing to keep rain off your 'lectrics etc.

If you think you've got more to learn, then I reckon it'd be better to do it on a rangi bike that you can throw down the road a few more times, making sure you've got the appropriate gear to do it in.

If you can get it back on the road for a couple of hundred I'd do that. As long as the frame and forks aren't bent everything else is minor from a road worthy perspective.
