Can I make a suggestion for next Wednesday nights ride?

Since it’s the last ride before daylight savings ends, I would suggest we go on a ride that’s not too long, with the final destination being the carpark at the Taita Bowling Club. There’s enough off street parking available there for about 200 motorbikes, and from there it is a 15 second walk to my place, where I would be happy to put on a barbeque. I would supply all the sausages and bread, and if people want any other meat or salads, then they can bring it themselves.

If this is a goer, then I would need to know by Wednesday lunchtime however, so I can make sure I’ve got enough sausages, bread, and charcoal.

If you are attending please go to calendar and click on attendance. Here is the calendar link: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ca...4&day=2008-4-2

that'd be may fault haha. My headlights are terrible and having never riden that rode before i was fairly conservative so i held up the pace.

Was good fun though, should have come along earlier thanks Sels and co. for not leaving me behind

The two of us cannot eat all the sausages ourselves so sign up and make this a decent turnout!

I hope to be there. All depends If I get home from work in time, as it takes me around 40 minutes to get over to the pond .
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

How about posting a google map so those of us inclined to get lost can see where this carpark is?
    Here for the ride.

There is a link on the first page of this thread, but it shows a map in the USA or somewhere.

I will attach a map, although I have not been there so is the duckpond the "Lake" on the map?

And does the exit on the Hutt Highway say "Avalon"?

Meet at 6.30 pm, or earlier?

    From the first page:

Yes folks it's on again this Wednesday - Weather permitting.
Departing 6:30 at the southern end of Avalon park by the duck/elephant pond.
(Turn off the Hutt motorway and onto the Kennedy Good bridge, the carpark is 100metres past the end of the bridge, on your left hand side)

Here is a link to a map.

    http://www.wises.co.nz/rb/3mmyd,7wp3...+bowling+club/

The bowling club is marked with a big red A, and comes off Reynolds Street. The easiest way to get there is to turn left as you leave the duckpond carpark, then take the next left BEFORE you rech the roundabout, onto Taita Drive.

If you follow Taita drive along, it naturally turns into Reynolds Street, and the bowling club is well signposted, on the right on Reynolds Street. Once you enter the bowling club carpark, ride down to the far end of the carpark. My place has gates from the carpark into the back of my section, and I will be leaving these gates open, so we can easily keep an eye on our bikes.

If you get lost, my cellphone number is 021 026 93224.

    Also.....

..... to all of those who have expressed an interest in trying out my racing simulator (as pictured in the link of my signature), this would be a good chance for you to do so.

Can someone answer these Q's for me please:

Does the exit on the Hutt Highway say "Avalon"?

Do we meet at the carpark that is on the left side just after the bridge?
(see my map, attached on above post)

Meet at 6.30 pm, or earlier?

I believe it does, either way do this: Traveling south on the western Hutt motorway you pass under a pedestrian bridge. Turn left at the second opportunity after that, (immediately before a set of lights).

    Yes.

Oh, and be there shortly after 18:00 eh?
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
