It was something on the telly recentlyish...he played and sang with Gilmour etc. Perhaps it was some sort of Hall of Fame thing?
Whatever, his voice was dreadful. And Gilmour looked like he was barely resisting the urge to smack him one....
Few in/approaching their 60s can emulate what they were capable of when they were in their 20/30s...SPMan is right.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

yeah that was a music festival in England or something where Rodger made a speech to the crowd about how great it was to be playing together again as a group

Old voices can never emulate what they once achieved in their vocal range It's better to remember them in their glory not burnt out shells of their former selves.

Though seeing Led Zep do a current live version of 'Rock and Roll' as they did at a concert in San Francisco in the early 70s would be a laugh

Another example though not in the same league as either Led Zep or Floyd is The Police they're getting scorned for their reunion concerts Gordon Sumner (Sting) has absolutely nowhere near the same vocal range as he once had and sounds completely flat.

Entered my name in the ballot today.
Ohh, how I wish I get picked, I SOOOOO want to see them live, especially as I missed out being too young to actually see them live before John died and they swore they'd never play again together as Led Zep, so here's my one and only chance (never say never, but probably)
BTW, if any of you lucky buggers get picked, make sure you call up Hauraki quick smart, if you're the first to do so, they'll pay for the whole shabang for you!! Now that would be cool!!
(sitting with fingers crossed for the next few weeks).

Call me lazy. Where do you pre-register?

And the nay sayers can go listen to Rolf Harris sing Stairway to heaven if they are worried the voices might have aged. Of course they have aged. Time doesn't make exceptions for talent. I'd still like to be there.

Yeah he was bad. But it wasn't 'cause he is old. All the songs they played were tributes to Sid and he was gettin' emotional, playing with all the guys again after all those years.

Yeah right on, that song is shit

To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. I have entered a few times today! 220 million people had entered as of this morning for 18000 tickets. Almost makes lotto look like good odds.
If I was lucky enough to get tickets in this ballot I would be going no matter what!
Might be easier to email them and invite them out here for a Kiwi Biker only concert.
