It wasn't kids but it was funny. My bike was parked between Gremlin's ZX10 and yamahaR64life's R6 - both of which are post 2005 bikes. Members of the general public kept walking up to the three bikes and going "oooh, aaaahh" over the scarlet 10 year old Ducati worth about one third of the value of the Kwak.
Gremlin just shook his head and asked me what the fuck was up with these people.

Some years ago, up at Orewa, have a cig break and this little person says "Look mum a harley", I look around to see the harley then realised he was talking about my old VT 250
We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

I was getting similar reactions when I was on the ferry bringing my bike home. No other bikes there but considering most people probably admired my bike then walked to their cars that were worth 3-4 times more

Frequently have kids wave from the side of the road or out the back of the cars in front. Heading home from work tonight and a couple of kids were staring at the bike as they crossed the pedestrian crossing in front of me, then I turned up the side street and went past a parked SUV where a kid (1.5-2 years at a guess) just loaded into, or about to be taken out of, a stroller turns its head to watch me pass - "stuff daddy's car, that bike is way more interesting" kind of look.

Didn't stop to ask how the bloke felt that his young-un was more interested in a battered 223cc road-trail than his shiny SUV...

Pullup next to a Lamborghini Gallardo at a set of lights with my 12 year son on the back. His visor goes up and he says to me..."Learn this guy Dad."
