the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
Glad they decided to wait.
Stick with your Mrs on the 16 thing for the piercing, at least with piercings they can be removed.
Tat's should definitely wait for laaaate teens or twenties. They can get airbrush tats that wash off in the interim if they want one soooo bad.
I got my tattoo as a going away gift from some galfriends when I was 21, better to get a tattoo at the right time & for the right reason.

I'm 20 now. 5 years ago I was living under my fathers roof and wanted my eyebrow peirced.
He plainly told me that If had it peirced I would no longer be welcome in his house.
5 years on, now living under my own roof, and I still have not had it done.
I think I was more afraid of loosing my fathers respect than loosing my place in his home.

Teenagers are like crossing raging torrents, if you resist the current, you will eventually tire and loose the battle, even drown!
Swim with the current and use it to best effect and you are most likely to cross safely.
Albeit a lot further down stream from where you started or wanted to be but at least you will accomplish what you intended.
In other words, go with the flow and try to influence the outcome closer to what you want it to be.
You have no real authority, only respect, one false move and you will loose that too!Good luck, John.
