I did wonder about the safety factor if your boots don't velcro together properly. Mine are that snug around the foot that they'd never come off without taking my foot with them

I use chain lube for my boots...

With that poof on a fiat tho, the Dainese suits have 2 zips at the calf so you can 'fold' and zip away the leather if you want an innie, or just zip the norm zip only for an outie. I'm doin the goof way cos the smx velcro keeps coming undone.

    If that helps..

Hey MG, I've got the SMX+ So yes the leathers fit and yes they squeek.
As for the calfs they have a bit of adjustment around that area.
Next time I see ya you can throw ya foot in to check the fit or try and find
someone who stocks them and try them there, although I've not seen any here in TGA.

Is anyone else noticing a pattern with Alpinestars boots?

I have the sidi vertigo's with the flash harry cable winding doo-hicky to close up on the back of the calf. These has quite a squeak to them, so I took them off and put a layer of ptfe tape (teflon) inside.

Wonderful stuff, got it on the drawer runners in the kitchen, and under the feet of the coffee table. Easy to move and no marks on the polished wood floors.
    3M make it.

So now I can sneak inside when I come home late from the wednesday and thursday night rides.
Oh wait, that doesn't work anymore now Ii have a really noisy Fireblade

    Yup.

    I've got the same boots.

    Squeak like buggery.

And the right one has the worst performing velcro at the top. You have to really push it well together and smooth it out or else they open at the top while you ride.

And there's no way my Quasimoto leathers will go over the top of the boot. There's only just enough room for my socks inside them.

But I've never found another pair of boots that fit my feet like the Alpinestars SMX do. Like boomer I have really really wide feet. Everything else pinches on the edges. So I'll put up with the noise and the silly velcro. Cause they fit well and they look good. And that's all that counts really.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

If there's one thing you can't do with squeak boots, it's sneak anywhere - believe me, I've tried

I get the same thing, but it's normally 'cause I catch them on the footpegs when I take off It's cause there's bugger all velcro holding them closed that they're so easy to open, and then you get chilly

Yup, it's easy to compromise when the boots fit so well. They might've pissed off everyone who ever heard me walk in them, but man those boots are comfy!
