Yip I can well emagine, and one day it will be the last time its held due to the leagle system these days... some one has to be held resposable and at some point no one will be willing.

Its a pitty realy as road racing is part of NZ's bike racing history, remember the cust races (I do in the 80's) well that was a gravel track, it goes back a long way.
I hope Greymouth keeps it togeather cos I intend to be there till the last checkered flag is droped.

F4 & F5, buckets is a nick name which I like but yes they arnt anything flash to look at however what we do is once again how road racing started in NZ, we get the old road going shitter thats been sitting in the back yard since when ever and we work the farker till its about to blow... so once again its a NZ thing as we never had board tracks, race tracks, fractory produced race bikes etc, so in a true kiwi style we made our own from when the 1st bikes came to NZ

Steve: I guess the world cup finals on the morning of the street race won't be too much of an issue now for the vollies who set up the track. Useless all black pikes.

Checked the long range forecast... looks like we will get a pearler weekend. Yahoo.. long live the tradition of fair weather for grey streets, touch wood...

    Touch wood indeed...

Although last year it was bucketing down on the Saturday during scrutineering... on the Sunday people who came over for the day had snow to content with as well...

Im just hoping for a nice clear, slightly warmer day.

    Should be a goodie!

GO DIESELPIG!!!!! Im hoping him and Black Betty gives a few people the learn. Last year his Mum and I were hoarse from screaming/cheering support!

I read about the funding so at least its go for a couple of years, and hopefully as the publicity builds so will the event to a certain extent. Tho not too much bigger, cos its great as it is.
Nelson was good but disapointing with the lack of racing for the buckets (1 race total, when Motards got 6!!!), and Burt Munroe dont wana do F4/buckets, we have asked, (and also clashes with the Magpie Madness rally AGAIN), so they wont get our support unfortunately, tho i would like to go there for it someday. And that is about it for the Sth island these days, i think?
Did go to wanganui last year but only to watch... big hike from down here unfortunately, and they dont do F4/buckets either... we just aint flash enough I reckon. But thats ok we get great racing at ruapuna and levels, and the occasional street thrown in for good measure
Yeah last year was very professionally run, I was bloody impressed. Every time we were on the dummy grid there were people with check sheets making sure we were supposed to be going out.

At the risk of taking this thread off course.... Nelson, wanganui and possibly Burt Munroe charge spectators an entry fee. Not many people want to watch Buckets pottering around the track, they may be fun to ride, but they aren't exciting to watch.

Off course I would support all KB'ers...

Im looking forward to seeing Rashika out there... Go girl!

But yeah Dieselpig had has a bit of a tougher season this year with John Jarvie around... plus he is a good mate... I would love to see him win, but he always approaches it one race at a time, and just does his best.... so lets see what happens eh?

Well Daryl Cotton should have the Greymouth Bucket Trophy from last year I will give him a ring tomorrow. As far as I know there is no Post Classic Trophy for Greymouth, Well I didn't get one for apprently winning post classic's last year!

I know there has not been a wet Greymouth in a long time... however I hear this year may test that record...

Hope everyone has their wets just in case!

Not that I believe weather forecasts at all, but at the moment it looks like theres a chance of rain on raceday. Did anyone manage to figure out where the great MNZ Tyre Saga ended up? Will races be called "Wet", and will that mean only treaded tyres will be allowed?
