    as far as we know... the 'racers decide for yourself' rule applies to all classes except Streetstock (which dont race at greymouth) for all events (except Ruapuna MCC events at present: they say no slicks all classes in the rain)

    interesting aside... K14 on the 125's at Philip island, in the rain, meeting declared wet and he mentioned they were all still on slicks

    Well the sun has pissed off and rain has set in by the look of it.

    I won't be around tomorrow for the race due to an event in Hoki but I'd like to wish all of you the best of luck for your races tomorrow.

    All good guys, sorry i didnt spend a bit more time talking to you lot at prize giving. just to let you know, we will be reviewing our grid/ lapscoring for next year so that we dont mix up the lap scoring for the buckets/classics again. unfortunately our lap scorers couldnt tell the difference and a lack of communication ment the split start didnt happen. my appologies for this. its in the list of things to be discussed at debrief.

    thanks again for putting on a show for us.

    The split start did happen Steve, I waited till the classics had disapaired around turn 1 before taking chase... so I reckon to take 4th position with such a *handicap on a 30yr old bike, was well done.

    steve the lap scoring may have been a balls up in your eyes but we know how we all did as would the classic guys, hell its hard work holding us back on the dummy grid you must have seen the excitment in our eyes... you orta see us in a bucket race with the BEARs, the warm up lap is the fastest lap.

    Ya done good Steve thanks to you guys that organised the event and a big fark off thanks to the people out on the streets at 4am and those that were still there when we were haveing a whisky at prize giving

    well you were a bit lucky there Bud old man, cos when we were at prizegiving Steve came up and asked us WHO should get the main prize (seeing as they had the wee booboo above), and we were debating giving it to your bro again, cos thats what they had written down... but then we decided you might toss ya toys if you didnt get the big one this time, so you got it

    Boody awesum work from all the team over there in greymouth Steve, tell em all a big thanks from us!

    I'm hoping you don't mind some honest feedback Steve, and if what follows sounds like bitching its not meant to. I had an awesome day and things went off pretty damn well.

    Bad stuff;
    • Clearly you Coasters have a different definition of what a 'shower' of rain is to us uneducated Easterners....over here a 'shower' does not involve an inch of horizontal rain in the space of 15 minutes
    • Seriously though- things seemed a fair bit looser and less organised than last year. Last year there were pople on the dummy grid checking off the bike numbers against the race list. It didn't happen this year and I accidentally ended up in an F2 race...and then not-so-accidentally ended up in two others
    • The PA system in the busiest part of the pits didn't work at all
    • The race order was changed without us knowing, no doubt because of the PA system

    Good Stuff;
    • sign in and scrutineering went really well...(as long as you stayed in the left lane eh Stanko)
    • Apparently most of the road markings were done with slip resistant paint, not the greasy shit normally used on our roads. Awesome stuff...can you give Transit some tips please?
    • My wife and kids took advantage of the steam train trip to Moana and had an absolute blast! Huge thanks to whoever came up with that idea, it helps turn what is really quite a shelfish pursuit into more of a family holiday
    • Considering people pay shitloads to compete at Paeroa/Wanga's and get all of two races, I'd say that greymouth represents awesome value for money...I got 12 races in. Don't tell them Norf Islanders or they'll all want in

    Thanks to all the people who organised it, and thanks to those who got up in the wee small hours and made a racetrack magically appear so that us ungrateful lot could play on it! Also, it was very cunning to place a Jaguar Alarm Clock on the track, I reckon that thing would have woken a few people up

    a) was impressive aye
    b) i had no probs, pre rider race check was good
    c) there was no PA in our corner (hamer hardware)
    d) as far as I know there were no changes in the race order, lunch should have been while the oil slick was being cleaned up tho.
    1) the yank in the right hand lane was OTT and unsure of what he was doing, i found him rather rough with the bikes 9his time apresiated all the same)
    2) yeah I had no issues
    3) there was a steam train?
    4) best value for money possible, Im still buzzing with it all

    My one complaint would be the riders breifing, that guy was great spoke up well said some good shit thats not usually said... however important shit was left out like 'entry and exit' from the track
    cheers DD

    a) Yep
    b) Last year they checked us off to make sure we were supposed to be in the race....this year one poor bugger couldn't tell us which race it was. Thats a big difference
    c)I'm talking about the PA speakers by the caravan. They didn't work or couldn't be heard over all the friken generators. from what other people were saying, they didn't work.
    d) BEARs was supposed to follow F3. This was changed.

    3) Yep.....erm, its name is Joanne apparently

    Hey Steve, you and your guys deserve the praise, it was another great event and I'm already looking foward to next year. Can we put that one down as a wet one? Next year will be fine if we do.
