Paint stripping on fairings

Hey guys, I'm about to drop off a couple of my fairings for acid dipping paint stripping!
1) Is this a good idea? - ie acid won't eat the plastic as well.
2) Does anyone else need some parts stripped as well? - It's $10 a kg but minimum charge of $50, and the stuff I have is < 1 kg.

Ahhh, but now you've have 3 weeks practice, and learnt some of the tricks, I bet you could do them in a few nights now

I have heard of people using oven cleaner to strip paint off model aircraft etc. Apparantly it dosn't damage the plastic at all. If you have a piece of fibreglass to try it on , that you don't need incase it dosn't work, might be worth a look. Spray on wash off.

K might give the oven cleaner a go.
I have actually seen some fairings that were acid dipped and they looked pretty good - just that these ones seem to be a different material.

PS - Don't use paint stripper on plastics!

Just make sure you test it first on a hidden place. I would hate to find that it dosn't work. I tried to find the article to post but it seeems it's no longer availiable.
