and was the instructor rofling while you were doing this?? i think you've been had andy....dont think thats a requirement for passing the basic handling test mate.....im guessin the instructor was bored and gettin his thrills from watching you shit yourself

it was part of the "emergency stop", and the carpark was too small to do it any other way, well, no it wasn't that small, but it was a good lesson nontheless

i shouldn't complain, he was even kind enough to put down the date as the day after my turning 15, when we actually did it the week before

    I'll start:

I'm happy to say that in 2-3 years of road riding the worst that's ever happened to me was dropping my bike on a muddy driveway at about 5kph. Just scratched the fairings, bent my indicator stalk and snapped the rear brake lever. Covered the scratch with a sticker, bent the stalk back by hand and bought a new lever.
as of last sunday.. +1 on your have crashed list.
However, it was a cleary avoidable accident if i hadnt made presumptions.

Low side, the result of a non-licensed driver not seeing me when he pulled out of his driveway. And I only had a headlight and bright green vest on at the time.

Another timely reminder today boys and girls of how vital keeping to the left on corners is. Me and another biker would have been wiped out today as we traveled around a tight corner near Piha IF we hadn't of been on the left side of our lane. Note, I said leftside of OUR LANE, not just left of the centre line.

Guy in a red car decided to cross the centre line as he overtook a turning car (on a blind corner of course).

IF YOU DON'T ALREADY AND FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, PLEASE TRY TO KEEP IN THE LEFT HALF OF YOUR LANE ON TIGHT / BLIND CORNERS.

Todays ride was action pack. I had a black Holden that almost cross the centre lane on those tight twisty roads.... Got a sore wrist now...Time to wash the bike...

dunno how i did it, but i did it badly

was going to be fine till the bike got traction and highsided

lucky to only walk away with a bruise. dad isn't happy. i was going to leave the cosmetics and only fix the radiator/mirrors, but he's making me repair and repaint the fairings, which is going to take fukin aaages

and i wasn't even going hard... nor was i speeding... nor was i racing..... so all the things i've been being told not to do were not the cause of the accident.... maybe running on under 5 hours sleep had a part to play

^ I was about to come today but I had a job interview..

Look at what I missed aye! So what exactly happened?

Bro, it's all good, crashing/falling off is all part of riding a motorcycle. Lucky you didn't come off worse aye! A paint job, a new mirror a new screen will do her real good!

People who have never dropped/crashed are usually pussies.... !
