Randomly I was driving up Main North today and saw a bloke on a Buell. He stopped after I waved enough hands at him, and we gassed for a while. Random meetings are a hoot, so it was good fun. I'll be flagging down anyone with similar iron in the next few months.

We did a heap of rides to Akaroa last summer in the dark. Was heaps of fun, roads to ourselves, easy to see oncoming traffic... so long as you're not treating it like a race, it's a good blast on a warm night.

Only trouble is the bugs... you get spattered something chronic

Mine is showing signs of being that time. I have one on the way, sprockets too of course.
Was going to try get a few more kms out of them but starting to wonder is it worth the risk of a potential failure if I push it too far.

I think the joining link let go, back sprocket still good front 1 worn chain was in good nick to, but in saying that i still got 40k out of them so not to bothered
i reckon the scot oiler i put on has paid for it self

Nope. Old bugger (hope he doesn't see this) on a black tubular. He sells Buells too, hence the long chat. Nice bloke.

Where are we going this Wednesday night?

Id be keen for Akaroa, but it might be a bit early in summer for that.

Doing the Gorges sounds fun as well.

Nelson might not be a bad idea since the weather here in Chch might be shite.
Otherwise I guess if it's curves that we want then we'll have to head to the hills. If it's easy crusing on the flat we got a plethora of unused straight roads out on the plains...

Which gorges are the ones included in the "3 gorges"? I hope it's not the ones along the Yangtze...
