Banks is a right git. I'm one degree of separation removed from him via a relative of his, and can confirm second-hand that he's just as unpleasant in person as he comes across in the media. His inclusion in any National Party would only hurt its chances; I suspect Brash knows as much.

Dick Hubbard seems like a good chap. If we hear nothing more about him for a couple of years, it probably means he's doing a sterling job.

The competent administration of a large local government structure is never newsworthy. "Mayor continues on even keel." Or perhaps "Governer maintains reasonable unemployment, makes 10% gains on power grid cost deficits." Has anyone heard anything about Mr Schwarzenegger recently? Didn't think so.

I fear that is but the correct outworking of democracy; he represents the majority Australian viewpoint.

We must remind the Terrorists to take those dodgy '51st state of the Union' Aussies out as well, once they've levelled New York and Washington.

Who the hell are Banks and Hubbard anyway? The old primary school headmaster was called Hubbard, would it be him? and Banks, hmm, can't say I know the rooster, ah well, as long as the fine people north of the Bombay Hills are happy with our old headmaster then that's o.k. by me

Who was sickened by Bank's trembling concession speech? Especially when he thanked Brian Nichole, the man who cost him the election with the NBR article mail-out.
Are people so incapable of recognising/admitting wrong anymore?
Loyalty be damned, Nichole was a devious, lying creep who'd stoop to any tactics to smear Hubbard.
    What a Karmic result.
Next step Bush and Blair, shame that Howard slimed into power again.

Do you really think Banks knew nothing about that?

Mr Nichole deserved some thanks for falling on his sword without claiming that he was acting under orders, which he undoubtedly was.

I hear it was a conspiracy between our old headmaster and that Nichole fellow to get the Banks dude out

    True and correct and disturbing.

Yes indeed. Do you really think Bush will be voted out though? From what I've heard (which isn't much to be honest) Americans are pretty apathetic, although it's good to see some bands within the music industry trying to influence young people to vote.

I always rejoice when bullies get theirs. So John Banks, woo hoo!

So the public does get STV. I believe that this is the best of the proportional voting systems. The reason we got stuck with MMP for national elections is because it had a fervent lobby group. The fact that it is not democratic missed most people's attention.

Australian elections? Go Johnnie Howard. Shows what happens in the absence of a credible alternative. Time will tell whether John Kerry is seen as a credible alternative to George W.

ask anyone from whangarei if they like Banks, and would they have recommended him for the Auckland job, or even parliment for that matter.
Did anyone hear about that chap who received an award with Banks in the audience ? he politely asked if he could speak to the Hon. mayor. Yes he was told by Banksy. So he asked the mayor "how is it your such a wanker?"

Yes. California is still running an unfeasibly large budget defecit, arguably the reason the last guy got kicked out.

He also turned up at the Republican party convention, threatening to 'terminate' the 'girlie-men'.
