    Coro loop today

the mormon few stunt crew attacked the coro loop today in the rain, my kwaka went for a good slide in a 35 k corner...photo's were taken, but will be added later due to the camera being in thye back of patho's GS...
a mermorable point was coming off the coast road and climbing up the hills with so much stem coming off the road visibility was down to 15m
sidewinder was scraping up the VTR 250 through the 25k corners..
the KX 60 renthals are what this bike should have been made with..6~ hours riding and my arms aint sore, unlike the old bars.
fuel economy was 17 k/l for my ER6n
riding in the rain aint too bad..but it is tricky...

    Coro Loop

Hi folks- newb here- am soon going to be spending quite a bit of time in the Coromandel area and am wondering what the Coro Loop actually is. I can guess, but could well get it wrong. Also, what's the best way to find out about good tracks for trail riding- looking at the map there are loads of old access roads for mines etc., but I have no idea what the deal is about whether they are public or not. Finally, where is the nearest decent bike shop in the area?

You know how there's Pukekohe and Taupo and Manfield?

Well there's also 'The Coro Loop'. It's kinda like Nuremburg, but with cars coming the other way

Got it- thanks. Am very familiar with the eastern part of the loop- will try the whole thing as soon as I get a chance.

    Nuremberg? Nurburgring.

I can imagine the visibility must be really bad, we were at Thames to pick up my (new or not so new) bike and the mountains were hardly visible.

Thanks for that map - I have one in my phone in case I get lost will update it with this one instead.

A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.

I was up there over the weekend and rode back to Tokoroa this afternoon. There were a heap of HOGS in Coro Town at the Peppertree, a couple of bikes at the lookout south of Coro and a black Speed Triple just south of there and that was it - quite disappointing for a nice day.

I did half the loop on Saturday - Thames to Coro Township was great, but it was pissing down coming into Coro Township, so I just turned round and went back the same way (yes, I hate rain). Great ride though.
