The weird thing about all this...

It all started over Whenuapai air base AND there was a C-130 flying around at the time!

My theory is that the air-farce has a new, and highly secret, device to create heavy rain.

The next "war" they are involved in... "sorry, we can't be involved, ...rain stopped play".

But I don't think it'll work unless either we find a third person, preferably in West Aucks, or unless one of us can see the flash of lightning as well? *goes back to calculations*

Disclaimer: Yes, we know we are both now geeks. But being able to pinpoint a bolt of lightning would be so totally awesome that frankly, we don't care!
    That would be cool!
I am out west, but it hasn't happened since I got here. It was very very close in Mt Eden
I'm gonna make it so PC

Was about to leave work when it was on. I stayed till it stopped and got a really nice veiw of the rain bow on the bike with the dark thunder heads over the city from West harbour.
The bike is made to ride not polish!

Yep, used to do that too...Midsummer rains on my island are wicked...pelting down of warm water in humid weather that just begs for someone to go dance in the rain...and of course, I couldn't refuse that call of nature!

But you got to admit, there is a raw power to electrical storms that is just energising...

Yeah I read somewhere that those who've been hit by lightning can confirm its "energising" ability.

We copped it in Tokoroa mid-afternoon. The sub-station at our pulp and paper mill copped a direct hit around 3pm which took out the power in Tokoroa too. Power was back on in Tokoroa just after 5, but we're still down at the mill. That's nearly $2 million in lost production so far.

I'm with you on that one 007XX, there is something... i'm not sure what the word is.... enlivening maybe? about a thunder storm.... the way it can be so dark and dreary and then all of a sudden the sky lights up with thousands of different colours.... it's magical

Absolutely...it feels so primeval and pure...

mmm...i wonder if the corporate crowd I work with would have a heart attack if I started to dance naked in the storm...
