I'm not averse to the concept of donating a kidney. But I would appreciate a bit more information than "Please can I have your kidney?" before getting some chef on a Christchurch bus to whip it out for me.

No offence mate, but if you want this to be taken seriously you need to add a lot more information. Such as why she needs it, what blood type she is and age, weight, some clue as to the medical history would be good too.
I am not saying it can't happen here because it can, but you could afford to be more generous with information if you want someone to be generous with their organs.
