LBTW gets all hot and sweaty at VMCC rd 5

Writing this shit is so fashionable, I just have to do it too. I'm a follower, not a a leader.

This weekends themes were 'improvement' and 'pass that big ass bike'

Umm yep, so, early start and off me and Deano go in the car. We see something that looks very funny on the way, that actually turns out to be extremely NOT FUNNY. But let us not incriminate anyone.

Okay, I qualified okay I guess, placed 22nd on the grid or 8/12 in Clubmans B. Nicksta .25 seconds ahead of me. My qualifying time of 1.27.855 was better than my previous 'best' of 1:30.592.

Race 1, the first time around, I got a shitty start. I didn't go hard enough and was actually glad for the restart.
Race 1, second time around, I got a better start by pretending I wasn't actually the one who pays for my clutches, gearboxes, chains and cylinder heads. Hey sweet, off I go. Then people got away and I was mostly left by myself to zoom around for 20 minutes. Which did good for my lap times because I did a 1:25.914 at some point. So that's a whole 4.6 seconds faster than last time I did the short circuit.

I was pretty damn hot and sweaty after that race. That was hard work, but very satisfying. I can't imagine how I'd ever be able to handle proper bike for 20 laps like that. But I remained focussed the whole time because other bikes were always within sight and I wanted to catch them bad.

This concludes 'improvement' and now we have a short intermission.

I drank beer (But not as much as Cowpoos!!) and had some nice din dins and talked about boobies. And I stood on a balcony and Drew promised not to jump up and down. And the hotel room was a bit whiffy, but not in a 'oh that's nice old smells' more like 'there is dry old poo under the bed' kind of stinky.

This concludes the intermission. We now move onto 'pass that big ass bike'.

So yeah, racey time. I got a good start by my standards again. And then proceeded the battle of ages. Here's some shit fighting pictures for dramatic effect.

So yeah, it was just like that. 'Cept there were bikes. Me and this fulla on a GSXR1100 bored out to 1200 in a Harris frame with modern GSXR forks had a good old battle. He'd take off down the straights, and I'd reel him in corners. I reckon I passed him on every corner. It was awesome, sure my laptimes went in the toilet but I had a lot of fun. I remember going around the sweeper swearing my face off: "MOVEE!! FOR FUCKS SAKE GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY!!!" it was brilliant. Never had a better time. Most fun ever, stuff laptimes, what having fun passing every which way?

Next race I was ready for another battle, but I think I scared him off by getting a bit close to him exiting Higgins. I managed to keep up with Nicksta for about 3 laps, but she got away when a another bike got between us. And she's just faster. So instead I had a much more difficult time keeping up with a Mr David Hunt on a GSXR600. This was quite a bit tougher, but very satisfying.

Oh yeah, I made an effort to brake later. Heaps of fun.

Big thanks to Deano and to my pit bitches, Skelstar, Drew, Driftin and Flame and her hangers on for providing entertainment.

That report takes the cake Simon - very very funny.

Great improvement alright mate - the pegs and pipe were testament to the lap times coming down. Better hang off more next time or you will end up grinding your bike away. It's not the most conventional method of weight reduction, but impressive all the same.

I could feel my footpeg getting shorter on Saturday. I made a real effort to hang off on Sunday, and it worked out well. I think it really helped with my corner speed. Got my slider down a few times and I wasn't trying to do that.

Yeah well, his is all lies. I saw him, he was actually sitting in the garage sucking his thumb mumbling words of insanity. He sat on the bike facing the back and he had to be told what way to sit. It wasn't funny, it was sad seeing a great man in that state.

Likewise! I'll have a couple more horsepower next time if Drew finishes my muffler (It's still stock) and I convert it to total loss ignition.

You were farking awesome to watch out there man!

The battle you mentioned with the Harris framed Gixxer1100 had us on the edge of our seats and jumping up and down! Legend!

I do like this streetstock thing because I can watch everybody else I know in clubmans and F3 much more intently!
