DM.....are you SURE you want to sell that??? I dunno man.....I dunno....
I wouldn't even be considering it if I didn't think it was. My problem is the fact that Waikato Yamaha were until very recently clearing brand new 06s for $16995. That makes this with 0km worth $16000 max (as its used). Subtract $1000 per 10000km and I come to a best price of $14000 hence my start at $13000. There are a lot of 04-06 R1s sitting on trademe at the moment and none are selling unless they come down in price or have something special.
Guys, DM is trying to sell his bike here. How about discussing pricing somewhere else FFS?
[edit] I'm tired and maybe confused.

I think you are confused there mate, as has been pointed out to me and many others if you post something here you invite comments and where better to discuss the price than here.......FFS.
Besides Paulus I think did have a valid point and I agreed, wheres the problem? Anyway everytime theres a post in here it get but back up to the top of the forum list too.I'm done...rant over ...sorry.
Anything (even it's the harsh reality of pricing) that helps him sell his bike seems like a good addition to the thread, no?
Sorry maybe got wrong end of the stick, just trying to help a mate.

Well you might be right, but the thing is I never sell a bike because i have to, so i have loads of time. I know yamaha is selling out the 06 models for $17300 with onroad costs, but they are blue, not black.people have been telling what i should not get for my bikes since i started riding bikes, but truth be told, They were always wrong.I got my asking price every time so far. But hey, im always open for an offer..but $13k...wishful thinking mate!
And no, im not getting a Duke..was thinking of the R1 SP, but will see how it goes.
Don't you just love golf?
I didn't really think you'd take $13k but thought that you may counter offer. Didn't really set out to try and offend you hence my explanation above. I have to say in this case I don't think you'll get what you're after but with summer coming along and the weather warming up you may get lucky. Colour means a lot less to me than condition and yours does look well looked after. BTW word on the R1 forum is that the 07 is a better bike than the 06 SP. That 08 Fireblade is strangely growing on me too.
i don't know about the CBR yet..it might be better looking in the flesh. yeah, might be better getting a new R1 over the SP, but doesnt the SP just look great. cant wait to see it next week.Surely this must handle better than the 07 with the ohlins and stuff? Then again Yamaha does own Ohlins, so maybe their standard stuff is better for the road..not sure

Seems you're RT-hook marketing method isn't working DM![]()

nice R1!!...![]()
"World famous since ages ago"
That R1 is a very sharp bike.
Regarding prices etc, I bought an 2001 R1 in 2003 for $12000, they were $24000 new. I sold the R1 and bought a Firestorm. (Paulus still hasn't forgiven me, even though I got rid of the VTR and now have a Fireblade!) When the VTR's came out in 1997, they were around the $20000 mark then they went to $15000 to $12000. What I'm saying is we can think our bikes are worth whatever we like, but it's the price of a new bike that governs the 2nd hand market I believe.
Anyroad, good luck selling it, I can't stand flipin tyre kickers, that's why I almost always trade in, lower price but less hassle for sure.![]()
