    I'd rather drink and ride

Fuck me... Painfully went to and ex, ex, ex, ex's girlfriends birthday party tonight. Bla, bla, bla, drink, drink, drink and a good luck with all that. See a taxi with my name on it and hop in. Stinky half cast skinny guy in fucken shorts. Oh great. Told me his fucken life story like I gave a shit. Half way over the bridge I couldn't take it any more so bluntly told him to shut the fuck up. Get to my house and I hand him my visa but he doesn't take visa. I did ask him this before I hopped in and he said it's okay. I remind him of this but to no avail. He said he'd take me to a cashflow so off we go. I get the money and he's going on about girls malesting young guys like me? WTF. Okay, I gotta nutter here. Stop at a red light and he puts his fucken hand on my leg. No shit, game on. Elbow into half casts face, reach and grab the keys, walk home.

Cheap ride home but I'd rather pay without the confrontation.

I could have given you some handling tips Finn.

I guess the worrying thing is that he thought you looked like the kinda guy who may be up for a bit of alternative

I bet you could. Even if I looked like a fag, he should have asked nicely first.

Not sure if I should file a complaint with the Police as I'm sure he will tell a differant story. I was pretty pissed at the time but I don't believe the elbow was that hard. More so to push him out the way so I could grab his keys.

Taxi drivers wonder why they get a bad name?

Quite disturbing for the females who feel safer using a taxi service, rater than walk home and risk being attacked by some stranger.
At least there is less work for the police when tracking down a taxi driver

So he only had to ask nicely then!!!

I would report to Police. He could do it to female passengers and obviously has a problem.

In the UK they have bogus taxis.......picking up females from outside nite clubs...........a dodgy taxi driver has to be stopped mate.

I don't know Finn, first it was a run in with the Council and now Taxis....mind you it has just been a full moon..

Finn. You have raised a valid issue with the safety of the public when being transported by taxi drivers. Some people have had a bit too much to drink, and are not fully "with it" and able to defend themselves to the best of their ability.

I do hope you report this incident to the police. The taxi driver needs to be dealt with.

This thread is a valid topic of discussion.

Agreed. I've moved it to Rant and Rave.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Hatchett found. Have couried it to you for future taxi rides. Just make sure it's not an undercover cop if you need to use it, other wise you might end up like the fucker down here the other day.

NZ Police CommCens Alert 09:00 30-09-2007 Auckland City

Location of incident: Auckland City District

Incident Type: Drink Drive Message Still Ignored!

    MEDIA RELEASE 30 September 2007
    Drink Drive Message Still Ignored

Auckland Police are still amazed that some drivers continue to ignore the drink drive message and the consequences that come from drinking and driving or allowing friends and family to drink and drive. This weekend many major exits to the Auckland CBD were targeted by alcohol checkpoints staffed by Auckland City, Waitemata, Traffic Alcohol Group and assisted by LTNZ Taxi Enforcement Inspectors. Of the 7729 drivers stopped in the anti drink-drive campaign 104 were detected driving with excess breath alcohol with 25 of those electing to have blood tests taken to determine whether or not they too will face court proceedings. Operation 'Safer Auckland 4' ran from 3am on both Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September specifically to target morning drivers of a high risk due to fatigue and overnight drinking. 21 of those testing positive for excess breath alcohol were under 20 (that's 20%) and many of them still on the graduated driver's license scheme. The permitted level of b!
reath alcohol is 400 microgram's per liter of breath.
One person who was bail with a condition of not drinking was stopped and blew 1300, over 3 times the allowable limit. One officer didn't have to travel far to catch a drunk as while he was traveling to the first checkpoint on the first night a driver nearly collided with him head on. That driver 'fell' from his car and blew nearly 1100. Nine people were arrested on a variety of charges, 7 cars were impounded and 18 drivers had their licenses suspended.
Approximately a third of the vehicles stopped were commercial vehicles largely consisting of taxis. While Auckland police applaud those members of the public doing the right thing by being driven home by taxis, dial-a-driver or using a sober driver, LTNZ Taxi Enforcement Inspectors conducting minor visual examinations of 573 taxicabs uncovered 289 that were non compliant with minor defects but alarmingly 52 were written off the road for serious safety defects. Police will continue to have checkpoints and want to put those ignoring the message on notice that police will be out there, any time, any place, any weather and you will get caught.
