except we are not going to Waitara .

Sorry was meaning those two scally wags.Your trip sounds brilliant, like the paraparas in a car, bike will be fun as well, some neat roads around your neck of the woods, used to take a truck up Oakune way to get 120 or so bags of oats and barley, then over Marton way for similar quantity of hay,dam the horses at the time, when loading and unloading on a sunday night usually 8-9pm when home.Loved the fact that the bags of barley were last on and weighed about 70kg,usually had 40 or so then unload the other 70 or so oats but same size sack only 35-40kg.NOT FUN.

Would've been ok getting all that feed if there was more than 3 racing, most was for the bloody ponies,ex racehorses(current dressage ponces),and mares not in foal as well as potential melbourne cup up and comers, mind you not as many now,at time I think tally was 3 in work,3 ponies(mare and foal and older offspring bitches too),3 mares(2 in foal),4 show horses various categories(i.e slow, slower and hopeless racehorses)and couple for dad's partners friends.

Exercise was good, except at the time, was about to find out emptying truck in darkness has it's pitfalls,i.e forget to keep door open to get into shed next day and need to rip a sheet of iron off wall as 15 bags topple over in the night and prevent door opening.Gotta love doors opening inwards, fixed that put door on rollers.

laffing yup that will certainly keep ya busy , & my two can be bad enough but now they are my relaxation .. my day revolves around feeding & mucking out but no stressed bout needing to ride them daily & they do not need it so its all good

    hey all

sorry to head off on a tangent here but how often do you have fuel stops on these rides? I have no idea what kind of distance I get to a tank of gas as the monster hasn't been on a long stroll with me yet. I am guessing I will be able to manage at least 200km...

How big's your tank? I'd guesstimate you'd be good for quite a bit more. The Daytona holds 20 litres and will get around 270 ish + reserves. We stop whenever the least rangey bike needs too.

I think but don't quote me on this

the monsters tank is 15.5l. All I have to go off is what other monster riders are getting ( in the states) and converting that back to kilometers.. Looks like I should be averaging around 230-250ish. I don't have a reserve switch, just the low fuel light. I would like to throw a 5L gas can in a back back and just ride till it runs out. That way I will know my exact limits and being a carbied bike it will get going again with no trouble..
