Weatherwise, it will more likely the east coast will be drier, although the west won't be majorly bad, a few showers. Reasonably windy everywhere, I'll check the latest in the morning. Should be quite sheltered in the valleys, which is where we'll be for most of the time if we go west
cool that could help sway a decision either way I am riding .. need the practice with two big rides coming up

talking to kevin at mobil tonight and he is keen to join you guys. He said he looked on here but doesnt know the meeting place or time. Must be blind. However if you see a guy looking lost on a cb1300 then play nice.

Heavy cloud starting to role over now. Met forcast has changed already saying it will be clearing midday. Still windy throughout island. I'd say rap for warmth and bring your wet weather gear just in case anyway if we continue west. Can't be too prepered ah?

Not particulary pleasant anywhere, although the east will likely be drier, but with stronger winds and slightly colder. Oh well. See you guys at the BP

    Happy Birthday Bonez

Edit: should not have mentioned rain .. its arrived .. about to don wet weather gear .. see the brave ones in a hour or so

Thanks for the ride today, we had a blast, me on the windy stuff and Lis on not surcoming to the flu, weeping fork seals and a sliding rear tyre. All in all, a good day.
Atleast it would have been if she hadn't fallen prey to trademeitis and bought herself not 1 but 2 NC30 VFR400RN's!! Now we'll have 4 bikes crammed into the garage so if anyone wants a bike or 2 we have 2 400's (ZXR H2 and VFR400RN) for sale... please.

On the other hand... we now need to go to either Taupo or Wellington to pickup on the new bikes, so next saturday looks like another road trip if anyones keen.

Long story but the short version is...
She missed winning a silver, red and black on in wellington, so she raced home today early from the ride to bid on her second option, a white, red and black one in Auckland. Won the auction then I arrived home to find the first one hadn't sold after all (time waster with no money bidding and winning) so they offered it to us and her top bid. She bought it, and still has to buy the second won as well... now we have the ZXR and the second VFR to sell... again.

A good ride yesterday thanks everyone for putting up with me on my bornday. Meanie and co for throwing the BBQ, cake and card.

Patently waiting for Mrs Meanie to pick me up after she finishes work to go and get Gerble. May even flock off for another ride. No plans but weathers ment good eastwards. No wind at the moment, birds are chirping and all is well with the world (well at least my little imaginary part of it anyway).

Can't wait for the pics to be posted.

Well with onset of summer arriving & a few long rides fast approaching needing to get more ride fit to handle the distances is necessary

Woke up yesterday to very dark skys, still a fair amount of wind but thought ohh well we can not have perfect weather everytime so yup the ride is still on

Left Shannon & did the most direct route to Palmerston. I have only ridden in strong wind once before so made the pace pretty easy .. what I did find is with constant wind its much easier to handle it’s the blustery stuff that can blow you about a fair bit

Arrived at first meeting point & Bonez (the birthday boy) 86 & Sarah had already arrived & were getting breaky & the much needed latte (for 86 of course). Slydesigns joined us from fielding. Geared up & about to leave when blacksheep made an appearance (slept in) so caught us by the skin of his teeth for sure

So 6 of us headed to next pick up point & met Melissa ( slydesigns better half ) and off to marton .. where we met English & decided wot the route for the day was gonna be .. plenty of blue sky started to appear but was looking pretty grey for our intended route .. but decision made to stick with the route .. which was a great plan as the weather came good & apart from one wee sprinkle it stayed dry the entire time, so now were were 8 riders

Gas up in wangas & hit the para paras .. quite a few washouts etc but I thought the road was in pretty good shape great to see a lack of pea gravel about & really enjoyed getting on some new road that I have never done by bike before.

Approaching Raetihi & passed a car that had hit a lamppost so glad the first riders were not a few mins earlier … regathered & off to ohakune for gas & lunch .. 86 got the text from cowboys with his adventure with mr man

After lunch off to waiouru quick stop for two of the party to gas up & just as we were leaving cowboyz & meanie dropped on in .. so now 10 riders headed to Taihape .. as the next section was quite a long one, another top up was needed to ensure we would make it to the next fuel stop .. off we set again & with bonez doing wot bonez does best a pearler wee road with amazing scenery out the back of the mangaweka’s a wee stop to see some local sites ( it was not sheep) & finally ended up in kimbolton to regather

After heading off in the wrong direction (following blacksheep) 86 quickly caught us & said wrong way .. back tracked to apiti & went into dogs territory for the trip home .. quite a bit of pea gravel on this bit & a close call for one of the riders I hear .. but we made it back to ashhurst unscathed

Thanks guys it was a blardy great day & I hear good times were had at the bbq Meanie

Going by the rider who covered the least distance & since I rode the futherest & since I have no speedo hmm rough distance travelled approx 500ks

Betsy ran like a trouper all day, now she gets the degreasing cleaning treatment for being such a good girl ( not stripping, losing her rider, or running badly)
