yes just for peice of mind aye

I am reading a monter forum at the moment and ther eis mixed views on a good fuel consumption. So I will head down to the petrol station tomorrow and fill up my little 5 litre container. I will ride without it till the fuel light comes on then will pack the extra gas from then on til I run out.

Mellissa can only get around 160k in the ZXR400H2 so shes going to be the one running out first I'd guess.

16L... we have carb issues. Guessing the sealing seat area of each carb body for the choke plunger is worn and causing fuel to bleed by into the carb. Runs rough and rich in the low to mid rev range, then pulls hard and smooth in the high end. We did a ride to wellington last weekend and my high strung CBR400RR used 10L for her 14.5L at the 180k mark. Palmy to Upperhutt then back to the little station on the greys bay side of the Paekak hill. Not that far really.

ANyone who knows where a set of carbs are, feel free to drop a line. Shes only had it 3 weeks and is ditching it already for another NC29 CBR or NC30 VFR. Shame really.

    that is a bugger

have you priced the carbs getting repaired. I'd say with that all sorted it would be a sweet bike

Was told by Neil at AFC its not repairable, the fault is in the carbs cast body and not a part that can be pulled or unscrewed off each carb.

After watching the weather reports on the news, are we still on for heading towards the naki? or more towards the sun in hastings?

LOL East is my favourate direction. Don't think it will be too bad here tomorrow though apart from the wind.

Hi ho, I will not be able to make it tomorrow which is a bummer as it is sounding good turn out wise at least, dunno about the weather, have'nt looked yet. I have just got back from picking up new brake pads and the Ace needs an oil change so I guess i'll be stuck in the workshop tomorrow. Could do with a polish too so I might get all that out of the way this weekend in between checking up on Bathhurst. Car could definitely do with a spruce up too, it's looks like a V8 rubbish bin at the moment. Have fun tomorrow and I hope the weather plays ball for both the Naki rides. I say that coz as we all know it can be beaming sunshine on one side of a hill and pissing down on the other with this changable season.

Bummer about you guys that can't make it, sorry to hear that

Weatherwise, it will more likely the east coast will be drier, although the west won't be majorly bad, a few showers. Reasonably windy everywhere, I'll check the latest in the morning. Should be quite sheltered in the valleys, which is where we'll be for most of the time if we go west
