Hi Kiwibikers

I have had my 1981 DR500 for 19 years. It's done 116,000k on the clock and I have just completed 100,000K of that. The motor hasn't been touched. Just about to retire the bike from road use and use it for off road only. I have never taken the carby off, just chains, oil and filter, tyres, plugs. Still on the original throttle cable. On its second clutch cable now. Still original paint. Seat is taped up of course now. Great bike, always started 1st-2nd kick.

Jeff thats one beaut bike never thought i'd see one looking that good,
i've got an idea- instead of retireing it how about swapping it for my off road only 99 DR650, i would love to get a hold of one again.

After nineteen years, it's staying put right here! It's like a trusty old friend -good try though!
