    1992 zxr250c general questions

Hey there just new to the game..

I have a large amount of slack in the throttle cable eg.. I turn the throttle and it goes under 1/4 turn before feeling the slack taken up? Easy fix?

How often do you change the oil if you ride the bike hard... I thought maybe 2000 ks? I am using a good synthetic Motul oil?

Have no idea how to tighten my chain.... different to my old vtr!

Has anyone ever put a performance air filter into one of these? Time for changing soon... just thought of getting a better one.

Basically to make a long story short.........

Just wondering if anyone in the wellington area had the skills to have a beer in a shed on a rainy day and talk bikes for a bit ... I missed the last spanner night with the zxr's and the hornets in May I dont want to scam free work on my bike!!! I really want to know how to get it done myself..

    Cheers

    Andrew

6000kms will be fine... filters are cheap, change that too.

Loosen the axle and get the rear wheel off the ground, it'll be pretty obvious after 5 minutes of playing.

Sadly they'll always be slow, just enjoy it for what it is instead of wasting money trying to hop it up.

Get a manual and some tools and start tinkering

You're keen, so that's half the battle won With a bit of luck, someone here will have a link to a ZXR250C manual

    hey mate
I got a pdf file with the manual for the zxr250c on my computer if you're interested. Even if you have a model a, most things will be the same. Its 56MB, and since its split up, i can probably email it to you. :-)
Let me know if you want it

Hey there thanx for the info!!
I got a source for a manual so i will give it a good read up.

I just wanted to know about the air filter though... it needs replacement.. so i thought extra bucks for a better one tis all. no biggie...

Whats th best way to get the back wheel off the ground without the use of a paddock stand?

These are just the little niggly issues i have had haha.. the big ones i am leaving for the mechanic... like 2 new front rotors and pads, new tires due in december with my warrent date dnt want to screw those up

    cheers
