Is it JUST me, or is BroTown seriously pathetic?

I can't believe that someone gave the go-ahead on this
    steaming pile of elephant reflux
Practically all the dialogue on BroTown is a poorly thought out rip off of the comedy people like Billy T James came up with YEARS ago...
Maybe it's just me, but I think some things make it on air, in the name of being PC.

I'm starting a petition to replace BroTown with Broken Towers, a brilliant new series I have thought up, all by myself. It will center around a motel, where a highly strung, bumbling manager will have to contend with his condescending wife, inept and foreign bellboy and hosts of peculiar guests. I'm thinking it could be set somewhere in the UK. I'm even thinking of making some delightfully clever play on the name of each episode, just juggling the letters of Broken, to form funny alternatives. What do you guys think?

It’s a cartoon comedy, please don’t dissect it. It’s not a science project

Well, yeah, no point dissecting it, per se. But the damn thing isn't even bloody funny. It's pathetic. The jokes are obvious and sad. The stereotypes are overworked.

All it had to do to succeed was be as funny as the Simpsons was, several years ago, but they couldn't even manage *that*.

If this 'comedy' does meet with general approval, that says more about the low level of mental processing ability in the New Zealand populace than I feel comfortable saying myself, frankly.

Watching bro'Town makes me embarrassed for whomever's responsible. Didn't they cringe as they laid down that script?

I know that, and I realise it's just my view, so thats why I just change channels. Just thought I'd share what I was thinking.
But, I still think tv, even cartoon comedies, should have some level of intellect. Heaven forbid some of it should rub off on the masses watching it

Look at cartoons like South Park and even more so King of the Hill and Family guy, so many levels of comedy / innuendos you actually have to think while you watch. And, they are somewhat original.

Pah! All my mates and I think BroTown is hilarious
And to combat your petition I've requested they all write in saying what a great show it is

Thanks for reminding me it was on tonight.
Oh and it's only a 6 episode series so it'll all be over soon.

And also, talking about British comedy. Did anyone catch Little Brittain on Prime last night? Great stuff!

    It's pretty lame...

    But...

    In it's defense...

It's better than the current crop of local reality shows (how did they get that name?)

It's why I read or listen to music.

I agree, but it's a bloody good effort. Concidering it is NZ first attempt at having a cartoon comedy show.

Southpark, Hummmm? I can be funny. But most of the time it's boring.
As for Family Guy...That is SO funny I can't beileve they stopped making it. And Futurama, also a damn good show to watch.

But we know that you have a dry sense of humor. Like Sierra desert has more moisture than you do.

    Paul

Yes, have to agree about the reality shows. When they first started, I watched the American Idol type program, and admittedly enjoyed it. I haven't watched the current series, probably because they take quite an investment of time, and they have a new series every couple of months.

I haven't watched Celebrity somebody, Country nobody (name?) once, and thats coming from someone who watches just about everything. Living the dream was watchable, since it was the first application I've seen, of a unique idea. No doubt there will be more, which I won't watch.

I am watching My big fat obnoxious fiancee, that I find rather amusing. Ofcourse, I'm only watching this first series/type of program, none of the numerous I expect to follow. I guess it's the age old "things get old, fast" factor.

    Family Guy = THE BEST!

I have all of the DVD's from my American cousin, and I love them! I even heard that they are making more episodes currently!

The sheer brilliance of it is mind boggling

As for Family Guy...That is SO funny
Glad we agree Did you by anychance see the episode where Peter thinks he's black, and gets pulled over by a cop, who then does a routine that has to be in my top 10 funniest moments, ever. (...subject is being beligerant.....officer down.)

Others, the "and then" gag from Dude, Where's my car? And, one or two gag's from SuperTroopers. Ok, really silly movies, but they just cracked me up

Oh yeah, as you say, Futurama is damn good aswell!
